I worked on the Payload Fairing. I'll have to go to the museum to see it sometime.

@@eatcommies1375 VTF at Waterton? If so, I walked that building hundreds of times when I was a firefighter/security officer with Plant Protection at LM Space Systems. I loved that dirty building. It creaked and groaned and made all kinds of weird noises!

Wow! I didn't know about this restoration. I did structural engineering and design work on the upper stage Centaur booster that was used in quite a few of the IV-B launches! I hope to check out the museum soon, great job!!!

Superb. It enough for my Titan-IV modeling. I've done a lot of research and it brings me here. I'm so happy that it got preserved in this museum :')

In this rocket too that Cassini-Huygens launched to Saturn. And yeah, Titan launch Huygens that landed on Titan. Amazing isn't?

It's funny that the one comment was "These vehicles were never meant to be built or displayed in the horizontal configuration" For 50 years, ALL Titans (I, II, III, IIID, CT, IV-A, and IV-B) are built horizontally and stored horizontally (yes the tank segment welds were don in a vertical weld jig, but it was then returned to the horizontal for installation of the internal support structures). The Booster core segments are naturally built vertically to pour the propellant, but are stored for very long periods horizontally, as well. Yes the PLF must be assembled vertically, as it was in the UES, but was always cleaned and stored horizontally. So my point is that unlike many other launch vehicles, the Titan was actually structurally sound enough to handle being horizontal without collapsing on itself nor doing it any damage. It's just fine horizontal without any pressurization nor extra internal bracing.
