That looks so cool! I found out recently that I had family connections who were Canadian 1st class passengers on the Titanic. Sadly the mum, dad and daughter perished, the daughter was 2 years old 🥺 (Helen Loraine Allison). Their youngest son survived at 11 months old as he somehow got on the lifeboat, but the rest of the family didn't cos they were looking for him. It's so fascinating learning the history of the Titanic and I'd love to visit the museum!

I've said it before on this channel and I'll say it again: I love watching people (especially autistic people) experience joy regardless of whether or not the thing they are experiencing personally brings me joy. I just love watching people talk about something you know they are bursting at the seams to tell you. And for that reason, even though the Titanic is not my special interests (but our special interests do overlap with sharks, shoutout to all my fellow members of the shiver) I would listen to Chloe give a 3+ hour guided tour of this museum while actively stimming and infodumping about the Titanic because that is the power of autistic joy and eye sparkles.

It’s so invigorating and heartwarming to know that getting absorbed into Titanic lore is a shared autistic experience. Turns out it’s not just me! I wonder what it is about the Titanic that piques out interests, particularly autistic people. Love that you had a great time and hope to visit the museum one day!

My heart is literally bursting seeing your happiness. Just got diagnosed late in life. Never forget how important you are to all of us who have bottled our emotions and life experience deep within ourselves for so long. But you know all of that, just finished your book. Mine was not as rough but took long enough. Until I can ditch my fear, I will look at you as an example. Love you so much. Never stop, never change, never give up!

I love your excitement. It's infectious! I hope that you had a blast on your visit. I saw this exhibit, or one very similar to it, years ago at a museum near me. It was quite an interesting adventure. I recall that at the beginning of the exhibit, they assigned each visitor a ticket w/ the name of one of the passengers on the Titanic. Essentially, you were assigned their identity, and as you went through the different areas of the presentation, you got to see how you would've lived on the ship, since the structure of social hierarchy was designed w/in a caste system. And, at the end of the exhibit, you put your ticket into this slot on a computer, and the display told you the outcome of your assigned passenger. I was assigned a young woman who worked on the ship, who didn't survive. It made for quite an impactful experience. I hadn't thought about this in quite a number of years. I will also say that this exhibit was made for you, someone who is able to experience a range of emotions, from joy to sadness and everything in-between, due to the sheer magnitude of importance held w/in the exhibit. This is an amazing quality, one that makes you authentically you. :)

I was always interested in the Titanic ship, and read books on it. I think I might have read some of those books. I found out that there were lots of foreign nationals that were on the Titanic. There was one Black passenger who was originally from Haiti, but was living in France and worked as an Engineer, but couldn't find work, due to racial discrimination at the time, and was moving back to Haiti for better opportunities for his family. He Perished, but his family survived. There was also one Japanese passenger too who survived, but was condemed by Japan for not going down with the ship in honor. There was also a Mexican passenger, who was a high ranking person in Mexico, who was visiting Europe, and was returning back to Mexico, and he perished too. There were 130 people from the Arabic countries such as Palestine, Syria, Lebanon, and Egypt. There were 8 Chinese passengers as well. The foreign passengers have been long forgotten, and are never talked about much with the Titanic.

I try not to have regrets but my genuine biggest regret as an autistic person is not seeing my Titanic phase through into a proper special interest. Sometimes I just think about how little I know about the Titanic compared to my other special interests and it pains me 😅

Ok I totally have to rabbithole the Titanic again now. It's not my special interest (sorry!!!
