Love these reviews. Allows me to pick a few balls to try and play with based on my play style based on your reviews instead of paying hundresd to try everything on the shelves. Much appreciated reviews

Great review as usual, Thanks. The one thing with my game is that I have no issues hitting the ball high. Most every club I hit goes very high except my 3 hybrid. This may be a ball to try for me as well. Especially like that it flies straight. My average good contact drive is about 185 +/-. As long as it is straight I'm great with that.

Again a very interesting review. What manufacturers claim and what actually happenes in the hands of us average golfers is sometimes light years apart. This could be a great ball for a certain type of player, but for most of us reading the claims on the box, we would feel let down. High launching is what is said, that is what I would expect.

Matte version vs. white “painted” golf balls would be an awesome comparison if you use the same brand and model of ball. You could do it with the Titleist Velocity or the Maxfli Softfli. I would be interested especially in the spin numbers but it would also be interesting if the matte or painted version had more distance or ball speed. Please do this comparison!

this was my 'safety net' ball last year to hit straight and get my putts to the hole . i play maxfli tour and chrome soft mostly, but if not feeling confident in my long game, i get a sleeve of these.
@GolfBallAddict

This is a great ball for doing that. With a low launch, low spin, and springy distance. It seems like it would be perfect for that

Thanks for the in-depth video. The content you have here is great. I was wondering which 2-piece golf balls you have found with highest launch through your bag?
@GolfBallAddict

It's a hard call overall, but it looks like the two most consistent high launching models would be the Wilson tour velocity and the Wilson duo soft plus

I think there's definitely a market for the velocity. I love how fast it is off the club. Personally I don't like the low launch but there are a lot of golfers that need that low launch. Plenty of potential there

How many shots make up your averages? Are you hitting off a mat of off the ground?
@GolfBallAddict

Great question. Currently I am heading off of a mat. I usually hit 15 shots with each club and an eliminate the abysmal Miss hits

Great ball for price…but don’t expect it to hold on firm greens. Love the consistent distance I get but unless I’m hitting ten yds higher I hesitate to play them in the summer.
@GolfBallAddict

Absolutely. I imagine firm greens would have trouble due to the lack of RPMs I got.

My expedience with the velocity is it goes a LONG ways. Both with the driver, and on the green! 😂 not a bad ball but I can not get it to sit at all. Which, is to be expected. Pretty solid and consistent ball.

Agreed. One of the worst feelings is hitting a flush shot and watching a ball hit the center of the green and roll to the back. Even if it's still on the fringe and you can put it it's a deflating feeling

I don't understand the market for a $30 a dozen 2 piece golf ball. Who are they targeting? Low handicap golfers want a urethane 3+ piece golf ball. Even at or around $30 they can get a Snell 3 piece or a Srixon Z Star (when they are running a buy 2 get 1 free like they are now). Mid to high handicapers want a cheaper ball. I wouldn't pay $30 for a dozen 2 piece balls.
@GolfBallAddict

Honestly I completely agree with you. I'm really trying to be nice to titleist cuz I feel like I dog on them all the time. But personally I would never spend 30 on a 2 piece. It would have to be the best golf ball I've ever tested and check every single box. And good luck with that.
@Iamwrongbut
Жыл бұрын
Yeah no idea what they are doing with this price. You can easily get a vice or Kirkland 3 piece for this price so why market a 2-piece non-urethane ball this way? Makes no sense.

I have been using this golf ball for the last two years with mixed reviews. I find they do launch low and spin less but they feel like hitting a rock. I am 41 years old with a powerful swing, 100mph with driver. I tend to hit everything high and with alot of spin. I used to LOVE the Bridgestone e6 with the hex dimple pattern. That got switched to the e12 I guess? I have used balls like the Pro V1 and TP5 and Z Star and I just spin them way too much with my driver to keep them straight. Can you recommend a decenly priced ball for higher swing speeds that launches mid/low with lowish spin. But something that feels better off the irons and wedges? Q Star, Q Star Tour? Any other companies?

Very good question here. I had to really think and check my notes thoroughly. Here is what I came up with: I would give a try to the entire new Maxfli Lineup. All three tour models. Personally I am not the biggest fan, but they all launch low to mid, are explosive off of every club (with a springy feel to them) and spin Lowish. The Tour S is comparable to the AVX and the other two are pretty close except for feel and driver distance. Also they are very reasonably priced at 35 per dozen.

How would you rate the Velocity vs Maxfli Straightfli?
@GolfBallAddict
Жыл бұрын
That is a really good question. Honestly they are both great in the performance categories. However I would have to give the edge to straight fly for two reasons. One, it launches a little higher. Which I think is really good for most people trying to get the ball up in the air. Two, the price is way way way way way way way way way way way cheaper.

That doesn't surprise me. I was using thick game improvement irons and the field was still a little firm despite being springy. With an 84 compression I imagine thinner golf clubs or slower swing speeds might be really punished on off center heads making it feel rockish.
