No don't buy!! You can't get parts for the car. Most parts are on a 2 year back order🤦♂️

I can only assume all the people that see a build video and just pass on it.. because it's a video about a dude building a kit.., they are missing out! I think I said it before, but you're the only one who can make a building video this funny! thanks

Did you just become our best friend? It’s a long video. Not for the TikTok crew.

Derek, the only take away I got from this video is that I'm not the only person who goes crazy about their hat looking crooked in videos (I make silly little RC videos). Thanks for the reassurance that I'm not insane. ;) PS, I build SO many kits (you know I'm a Tamiya fan boy) and it's probably as much fun for me as running RCs. And I watched this whole video as I enjoy watching build videos as well. You made SO many great points and I hope TLR watches this.

The easiest way I found to measure the motor mount washers was to insert them into a mounting ring and then use callipers. This allowed for a consistent measurement.

Cool shots. Does anyone know if an update to the 8ight will be released soon?

I watched this until the end and was very entertained. Great video. Shows how the build will go for your new to kit drivers lol. I love my XE elite so far but it’s taking some time to figure out what the car wants on a track to track basis.

I think most modern race cars have a narrow track condition window. Most surfaces are high traction. When you get outside it changes everything. But I feel Losi should have a good setup for most tracks.

I’m planning on building a kit this summer, but it won’t be this car. Haven’t built a kit in 30 years; based on everything I’ve watched lately, I’m leaning towards a Tekno.

Videos don’t always tell the entire story. But Tekno is a good car.

@@vrcmag That’s very true. I’ve watched a bunch of build vids from multiple content creators for educational purposes. Seems like TLR’s instructions in particular are geared towards people who have built enough cars to easily interpret their instructions.

@@HaulinAzzzovs I’d argue that somebody shouldn’t buy a race buggy as their first car. But all kits have flaws in their instructions. My guess is they don’t have somebody involved in the project build it

Those lower shock cartridge caps are meant to not be over tightened. I'm guessing that's why they're shaped like that. In other brands that I've built, they're knurled or have some other finger grip machined in. If they're over tightened, the x-rings grab on the shock shafts and bind up. Also, I could def be wrong, but I think the shock shafts are chrome plated, which is supposed to be better than the nitride.

Not sure if there is the correct spacing it can crush an o-ring. You cAn only tighten it so much. Hand tight on 1/8 scale or any scale doesn’t make sense to me.

I have never truly felt a plush difference between the two chrome vs nitride, but wow 😯 give it up the nitride looks bitchin!!

Do you have/remember the part number for the hinge pin inserts? I’m having the same issue for having too much play. Contacted Losi and sent me a set but it’s wrong, they’re too thick and won’t fit in the arms.
@vrcmag

They didn’t have a part number for me. Use some grease to get it to slide in.

I want to thank you for your honest opinion on the kit. I'm a tlr fan , i own a 2.0 & 3.0 and love them. I Wanted something new, and after looking at this video and my friend's same kit build and I have come to the decision I will not buy this losi kit.
