I have to do this etude and it's super hard especially since I'm a beginner clarinet in high-school band,and everyone around me is skilled,but I'm gonna stay in band no matter how hard it gets because I find it fun

Really nice job and nice etude! That’s harder than the ones they select here in VA. Also it’s the good kind playing for students. They’ll actually improve on this. 👏🎶

@@juanchofrancisco6210 side key area on the right when you would play high Bb, it’s the top one. If you hold that and play it plays a B that you would only use in situations like the turn

Are you using a new setup (clarinet, reeds, mouthpiece) or a new mic? Your tone sounds a lot darker and I really like it!

I feel like with this etude my altissimo sounds really shrill and bad, especially in measure 20 and measure 24. Do you have any tips for making it sound better? Also do you have any tips for the turns in 14 and 16?
@EricChiClarinet

There are many reasons why the altissimo can sound bad. I can't really list all the reasons here, try playing them double lip and see if that helps. Use the top rh trill key for the B in the turns, make sure you get out of them on time.

Is there any reason why you choose to slightly elongate the first note of each 16th note sixtuplet group? Is that just another way to emphasize those notes rather than just playing them louder/stronger?
@EricChiClarinet

I think the accents work best when done with time versus sound. The whole etude is a dance and too percussive of an accent takes away from the lightness of it.
