Thanks for the video! I just ordered something similar (86" unit) from TMG and I'm excited for it.

Thanks for the feedback Nate. We have made some improvements to our plow for the 2021 model that remedy the issues you were facing. Regarding the broken part, that is the limit device. Our new models coming out for next season will have skid shoes as well!

we just recently picked up a 2017 Toolcat with high flow hydraulics. We have about half a mile of gravel roads up here in Montana going to our house. Snow blower vs snow plow? We probably get similar amounts of snow as you do in Michigan for reference... by the way, being a Toolcat owner and having your channel as a reference is amazing. Thanks for all the hard work putting these videos together.

Sounds like a great place out in Montana. I find a plow faster for everything under 1ft. But that also depends on terrain, meaning you have some place to plow/stack the snow. If you get lots of deeper storms (8+ in at a time) and/or need to move the snow a long distance to keep snow banks down then a blower may work better. But you'd be annoyed with 2 to 4in snows with a blower. Have to go slower.

@@NaterTater you're exactly right, 2-4in at a time would get old quick with a blower... and that is certainly the average for us here around Bigfork. Naturally we get the occasional big storm that rolls through, but we aren't in the mountains necessarily, so definitely not a daily issue. looks like the TMG plows are roughly $2800 now, $1200 was a heck of a deal ;). Thanks for the insight!

@@riso2k44 yeah i talked to them. China steel and ocean freight is significantly more expensive now. I still see them used on FB marketplace and the like for cheap though. Some call it dozer blade.

I was curious too. I lived in a mtn town in Idaho called Saint Maries. We had a home that had a circular driveway with a hump, long entry about 100 ft and all gravel. And the "street" was a gravel road as well that was a out 300 ft had a utv with a manual plow attachment but would LOVE to have this with the hydro or if snow blowing would be the way to go. My scare would be getting gravel stuck in the blades but if it did a better job .. Also money were no object what plow would you go with, or blower for that matter?

If money was no object i'd have a V-plow with hydraulic ends and a snow blower. Many brands out there and I havent tested them so I can't recommend a brand.

1200.00$ USD is a very good price for a hydraulic snow blade. The cheapest i found 2 years ago when i was shopping for one was 5000.00$ CDN (3929.12$ USD). I finaly set my eyes on a used (Métal Pless - 6 To 10 foot) for 5500.00$ CDN

Agreed. So I'm willing to deal with a few fixes here and there for that price.

Nate, we just bought our first Toolcat (used 900hrs older unit). We have the Brushcat, forks, snow blower and bucket. Wondering if we could connect and chat a bit about your ownership and attachment experience. Thanks, Chad

How do you think it would do for moving dirt.

It has trip springs, you can adjust them to make it stiffer but without modifications it would trip on hard dirt. You could certainly move loose fill.
