It is hard to tell how much stress I am carrying until it is gone. I can tell a difference even in these few minutes of exercises. Thank you!

exactly! so much of what we do (our movements) are do out of habits without much awareness so we are not really aware of so much of unnecessary effort and muscular tension we carry all the time until they are removed or reduced.

we all have amazing body and brain. we just have to learn how to tap into our own resources:) i believe we focus so much on "WHAT" we learn (contents) but rarely focus on "HOW" we learn "What" we learn. I'm focusing more on "HOW" we learn what we learn. This "HOW" makes this practice body-mind integrated movement practice, the practice of learning about your body and how your body wants to move from the inside!

This is like Vipassana meditation in Buddhism: be aware and feel our thoughts, feelings, body without judgment. Right? When we are aware( not observe, because observation requires effort from our part), our mind can rest. When our mind rest, we have rest in our body and peace in body, mind, soul. Hence, our whole body will be relaxed ( when mind is relaxed, everything is relaxed), not only TMJ, our jaw, our shoulders etc... Master Taro, we would love you to teach us longer meditation , half hour or 45 minutes, so we can experience bliss. Thank you Master.

yes! To me, movement practice is meditation practice applied to my daily activities and life, and can carry new awareness and patterns into all aspects of my life, and there's no disconnect between movement practice and my life because everything we do is movement. This is why I teach movement:)

@@TaroIwamoto thoughts are movement also, not only body. When we do not question anymore, our mind can rest and we are peaceful, content. Zen meditation is to live in the present moment, to experience the magical moment without the interference of the mind. What is, is. No need to torture our mind to change what is. Change will come naturally by itself if needed. Have a blessed day, Master.

There's an interesting video I saw in physical therapy videos that the jaw, back molars are connected to balance of the left vs right in the body...
@TaroIwamoto

sounds like the person who was presenting that information has studied with PRI (Postural Restoration Institute). Articulation of jaw influences neck, which influences the entire spine, which influences the pelvis/hips, which then influences legs and feet. As I always say, everything is connected:) All body parts, all body systems, mind-body-nervous system, environment, etc. This is why there's no true improvement of any body part without improving whole, and it only makes sense for us to realize the fact everything is connected, and work with ourseleves as a whole, instead of fixing/correcting our body parts as mechanical parts:)

I believe many feel the same way because we're so conditioned to think everything in isolation (all body parts, body-mind-nervous system, etc), but the reality is that everything is connected, so it only makes for us to work with our body, ourselves as a whole:)
