Fantastic run.
Amazing start. First 3 stages were very fast. I got snowball'd at the start of Winter and couldn't get the fast manip, then failed the backup manip. Overall extremely solid until skating, where I lost about 4 seconds. Luckily that's the only bad stage here and the biggest blemish by far (I even paused out of annoyance because I was going to reset).
My late game was stellar. Fast Factory. Scorpions weren't the best but I played them well and made up for it with a strong stage. Nearly perfect Shogun. Technodrome was killer until I died on Shredder. Getting a deathless Krang with one health then getting left side Shredder makes it very hard to avoid death. On the left side, the clone will usually come over immediately after the real Shredder's helmet flies off. On the right, the clone tends to mosey around a bit before heading over and you can down the real one before it gets to you. Unfortunate to die with Shredder 1 hit away but there wasn't much I could do.
My goal was to hit 26:2x and I was hoping to at least get 26:26. This run never felt truly great so I was pretty stunned when I saw the final time. 5 of the 10 stages were the fastest ever done in a completed WR time.
There's enough left hanging to go for 26:1x eventually, but beyond that would be difficult. With the 2 big blemishes removed, this run already hits 26:17. Winter could also reasonably be about 3 seconds faster, so 26:14 - plenty of room to realistically hit a time in this range. I also have a big gold left to get in Factory (about 4 seconds), I think Dojo could be slightly faster than my gold, and I've never had a perfect pair of boss fights at the end in a run. Even still, a big part of this game is throwing attempts at the end game hoping that the scorpions don't ruin the run. Then Krang and Shredder can each cause havoc on their own. If any kind of manipulation for the scorpions and a better Shredder strategy was found then I think 26:0x would be realistic. It's hard to tell the limits of a game of this nature but this is definitely approaching optimized.
I'll likely get the itch to go for at least one last grind in this game but for now I'll let this one simmer.
