Just starting my TMS journey. Only found out about Dr Sarno a few days ago... Years of chronic pain. So desperate for hope...scared this is too good to be true and will be another huge letdown but this feels so right within me...Been trying to put the teaching in practise...Journaling...meditating...obsorbing any teaching I can find...came across this meditation.....I'm a 56 year old man and I cried the whole way through...not regular crying but huge gasping sobs.....writing this through tears.....I feel like after all these years I've been heard and are not alone.....THANKYOU SO MUCH!!...... will never forget this moment

I came here because of a bad flare-up after a meal and immediately started crying after "breathe in strength" because I realised that what I thought was me being strong was just me putting on a brave face while being hard on myself. Going on this journey is strength. To keep trying despite setbacks is strength. Keeping hope is strength. Being kind to ourselves in the midst of suffering is strength. So instead of toughing it out, I'm going to try to be kind to myself, to let myself be sad, angry, frustrated about this situation. And I hope that whoever is struggling on this path right now knows how strong they are.

“Dan the Man” -- soooo true. I like this 7 minutes very, very much. When he says “breathe in the badassery” I smiled real wide. It’s perfect. The simplicity of all of this is a breath of fresh air. I’m still learning safety and all that, but I know what to do. I’m gonna win. So are all of you. Thx Dan-the-Man ❤

I love all the ideas of what to breathe in and what to breathe out. I’m sort of a wordsmith, and the word “bliss” caught my attention. I looked up the exact definition: to reach a state of perfect happiness, typically so as to be oblivious of everything else. Then I saw the origin of the word which is “blithe”. Check out the meaning of blithe: showing a casual and cheerful indifference considered to be callous or improper. I love it! Casual and cheerful indifference to the symptoms.

Dan this is a great meditation. For those of us who practice meditation regularly it would be great if you could time it with the way we would breathe during it. For instance, when you say breathe in-wait 4 or 5 counts. Then when you say breathe out --wait even longer, say 7 counts, so we can breathe with each statement as it’s being said. To me it would definitely be more helpful to focus on each statement while breathing along with it. Just an idea! ❤

Somatic tracking is like a meditation, where you learn to relax yourself and attend sensations with curiosity instead of fear. Its kind of simple. You just breath , let your body become heavy, make yourself comfortable and then start to feel into your symptom. You stop avoiding it and by that you teach yourself that the symptom's are save and you are save. I came to it with the cureable programm

@@PainFreeYou Thanks Dan. As you know 9 specialists and different diagnoses. I have Modic 1 (oedema in L4 and plate involvement) with bulging disk between L4 and L5 impinging L5 nerve root but some docs say that aint the cause of my sacroiliac pain. I am a TMS type of steroids. Abusive upbringing, perfectionist, people pleaser to the extreme, mega sensitive. I know that if I can be convinced it is TMS I will recover very quickly. I cannot work because pain wakes me up and cannot concentrate - lie in bed and hit the bottle on bad days

@@greenleader413 What is stopping you from believing TMS is your cause? Have you gone through the resources on my getting started page including the assessments? What's your score on the pain test? www.PainFreeYou.com/start
@greenleader413
Жыл бұрын
@@PainFreeYou Thanks Dan - I scored 30. I went to 9 specialists who gave me different diagnoses (spent a fortune). One axial spondylitis (but no sacroiliitis in MRT and HLB 27 negative), another leg length discrepency, another SI joint disfunction (discrepency has now been elliminated), another by MRT: Modic 1 (bone marrow oedema 2 x 2 x 2.4 cm) changes in L4 with L4 base plate and L5 cover plate erosion and disc therebetween greatly protruding and pinching nerve - (looks like egg timer) - , some docs have said this aint the cause of my pain, another piriformus syndrome etc. etc. Worse is that the pain wakes me up in second half of night (that is why first doc throught axial spondylitis) and this year have been almost in constant state of sleep deprivation - thus cannot work. Last days I have slept OK but low back stiffness in mornings (these are the reasons I doubt TMS). HOWEVER, everyone who knows me knows that I am mega-sensitive, mega hard working, mega-goodist, mega-perfectionist (these are NO exaggerations), since a child I always sacrificed myself for peace and quiet. Had an very abusive childhood (left family and had no contact for 17 years, with my bro for 23 years). 4 years ago I developed pterygoid hamulus bursitis, in the middle of which I had also developed severe gastrointestinal problems (terrible nausea) for 4 months which was later correctly diagnosed as anxiety disorder (after being told all is physically OK the symptoms disappeared overnight). The PHB lasted almost two years and after it was more or less on the way out I developed this insidious onset of SI joint and lower back pain at the beginning of last year. Psychological stress makes the pain worse. The pain went down for a few months in the latter part of last year after I stopped doing physiotherapy for my back, but then I developed a rash on my forearms with headache and poor sleep (which seemed to be aggravated by sport but I am not too sure) for weeks . At the beginning of last year the rash problems stopped (hardly returned at all this year, but then due to the pain and lack of sleep I did little sport) and the pain came back and has got worse to the extent that I spent many many days in bed (terrible tiredness and sleep deprivation too). The doc who thought I had axial spondylitis was surprised because with ax. spon. pain gets worse with rest. However during the day when I lie in bed I am always on my back and during the night I sleep on my side. (The doc never even asked about this!!!) I can provoke this SI joint pain by sort of twisting my pelvis whilst sitting. Those who are closest to me reckon it is my psyche! Also the universe has been giving me strong hints at it this being TMS too, but I am not sure if these were not highly coincidental occurences. Dan - you do not know how grateful I am for your videos. Thanks
