Thank You Dan and Patricia for this. We don’t get too many TN success stories. I’ve dealt with this since 2015 after having dental work. It’s sometimes extreme and sometimes low level but always there. I absolutely believe TN and most neuralgia is mind body related. Neuralgia can definitely turn up the fear. Patricia’s story here is a great resource for people suffering with TN.

The phrase Mindbody "Related". I don't believe it's related. I believe mindbody / perceived danger is THE and ONLY reason for TN. The body heals. Pain that sticks around has become learned by the brain and nervous system. It can be unlearned. @@PainFreeYou I absolutely agree with you Dan. I know that my nervous system is hyper vigilant and my focus is on the symptoms when they are turned up to 10. You’re correct about the perceived danger. I’m not sure if this will make sense but I’m not so much afraid of the symptom because I know that it is mind body and nothing serious. I think that my fear comes from thinking that my brain can never fully understand and that my nervous system will never calm down. I am absolutely guilty of not putting in the work. My process has been to carry on with my life with the pain riding along with me but never doing the work to calm my mind and nervous system so that the symptoms actually go away for good. Again, thank you so much for everything that you do.

Thank you for sharing your experience, it totally resonates. I'm so pleased you've come out the other side! I couldn't agree more Dan, the fear, focus & preoccupation I've had since my onset of pain/symptoms started has made it more automatic, constant & stronger in sensation. Also, how now I'm applying the techniques you share has seen a shift in my pain & seeing other pains/symptoms pop up - I can completely see how as you mention, a hypervigalent nervous system will potentially produce pain/symptoms elsewhere when the original fear loses its hold. I can see how the belief & mindset is key to unwinding this as well as continuous reassuring messages of safety to calm the nervous system. It is totally perceived danger pain/symptoms for me. This reframing has me more clear on this now so thank you!

This is just like my story I've had TN for 6 years. It started as a quick random electric shock but now, 6 years on I have massive attacks like someone is touching my face and head with s cattle prod . Doctors are rubbish, carbamazepine brought me out in a head to foot rash, I'm currently on baclofen which is a muscle relaxant. I have a constant narrative running in the back of my mind telling me , well today you're having a good day, but anytime now it will come back, the doctors told me it would come back so it will. Its worse at night and I start worrying before I even go to bed and it says it off . Last night I found Dan's video on trigeminal neuralgia bring TMS and when I woke up this morning the pain had stopped, but the narrative is still running.i think its going to take some time Thank you so much for your daily videos, they got me through a very bad night and gave me hope and good luck with keeping your pain away Trisha, I've been near suicide with this myself , I've never had pain like it xx

Hey Tracey - you are in the right place. One suggestion is to begin looking at your symptoms as TMS or what I call Perceived Danger Pain. TN is the medical term which has tons of hopeless people stuck in a medical system which is ill equipped to handle these symptoms. Also, begin to soften your own descriptions of the sensations. If the way you describe the sensations would scare someone else, it is scaring your own brain. The subconscious is running the show. The task at hand is to teach the brain that we are actually not in danger. A good place to begin is my getting started page: www.PainFreeyou.com/start Welcome.

@@PainFreeYou I'm getting that and incidentally, I had been referred to a neurologist and I had had 3 months virtually pain free. The neurologists exact words were , it will come back, surprise surprise 3 weeks later it was back with a vengeance. I'm at the beginning of this journey and its not easy to suddenly change 6years of monkey mind telling you 50 % of TN sufferers commit suicide and there is no cure. Today I realised it also means 50% of people dont commit suicide . I've also realised this is not the first time I've been affected by TMS , I've had 2 other occasions in my life that I've had debilitating symptoms thay have impacted my life . For the first time in my life I feel like there is a light at the end of the tunnel, and that tunnel has litterally over night got a whole lot shorter xx

@@traceymoore8962 The reason there is so much despair and hopelessness is because the entire TN community and even doctors have it all wrong. How DARE a doctor tell you it will come back when you are feeling well. Who does that? How did that help you? That's just awful. TN is created by the brain perceiving danger. Period. Thank you Patricia for sharing! Very similar story here!! Slight difference is neurologists had me chasing a number of things migraines, seizures, and eventually trigeminal neuralgia for about 20 yrs. None of the medications worked and MRIs showed nothing. With each new neurologist I had more tests, different drugs and different diagnoses. That eventually led me to realize something majorily did not make sense....how could the pain increase yet move around from head to jaw to neck to legs and never be found. I couldn't work, sleep or socialize. So I decided either I was going to drop dead from the pain or I was going to find an answer on my own. That eventually led me to Curable and then Dan. Dan's videos was the first time I was able to see my brain was doing what it thought it needed to do based on my fears. I am now working on reducing the attention I am giving these fears based on Dan's program and that has been the only thing that has started to help.

I have a constant burning aching pain TN2 and I'mjust 22 . It kind off started 4-5 yrs when i started experiencing hightened anxiety (the horrifying physical symptoms one) due to a very traumatic event which gave me a fear of sudden death and diseases. Is it really because the trigeminal nerve is being compressed because this podcast made me wonder the same question as patricia that why it suddenly started paining now because all the nerves, arteries etc are generally touching themselves.
