I live in Chattanooga TN, where do you catch your fish for your fish tank?

My current river tank is all store bought. I personally do not have a Tennessee tank. I've focused on exotic fish from the Borneo region. I have done a fair bit of research into keeping a North American tank and there is a reason it isn't done more often. 1) there are a lot of legal issues on which fish you can keep, how you can collect them and where you can collect them. Check with TWRA for advice on what and where you can collect. 2) Almost all TN fish thrive best in rather cold water. Temperatures that generally cannot be achieved without expensive chillers. So for these reasons, I personally decided to make my river tank tropical with fish I can source from the store. I have a few videos on my channel displaying my tank. I need to post an update.

i'm trying to make a river tank myself but powerheads or circulation pomps doesnt seem enough. Does anyone have tips to create lots of current for fish that would be pleased by it?

I just saw this comment, I don't get on here often. I have just a few videos on this channel of my own river tank. I use a manifold system to create a current. I have two powerheads and it does a pretty good job. I think it would depend on how big you want to make your tank and what type of fish you want to keep. A lot of fish that live in this kind of tank do not need as strong a current as shown in this video.

Thank you for your reply! True that, depens on the fish but I really like fish species that are used living in fast water streams. So a tank like this inspires me but I'm not sure what kind of setup they use to create the waterflow. Doenst seem regular to me, maybe more what is used in ponds with large water movement? like 20.000 l/h or something instead of powerheads..

You have to pump the water from one side to another using pumps and piping or hoses. It would be better to have the pipes/hoses external to the tank but you could build it in the interior if needed. I don't believe you can circulate water like this without that type of set-up.
