It's beautiful. I think you should open a store. 😎

Will try to move these on Marketplace first see how that goes. Definitely not something you want to ship. They are Heavy Duty. Given they are made of 1" oak staves and barn boards, they are pretty heavy. Thanks JW!

No shortage of places around here selling bourbon barrel parts. It was definitely a fun little project. Had to build a couple jigs, and design on the fly, which was fun. I ended up with only 4 baskets in the end, I do have some staves left over, enough to make another basket, but not enough to pick 6 that would be even on both sides. It is definitely something I will do again if I can find buyers for the ones I made so far. I have about $10 in materials per basket, if i can sell for $50, it is worth making more. These are not flimsy little baskets. In the end they have some heft to them given they are made of 1" thick oak and barn boards. David, always appreciate your feedback.

@@TryNewThings would it be possible to rip staves in half so basket a little less hefty? That would create a whole bunch of challenges.

I think you could laying the stave on it's side, running it through a band saw with a fixed backstop in place. That would be a lot of work, but i think the biggest draw back would be you would lose either (a) the black char color or (b) the natural staining from the steel bands - depending on which side you decide to use.

Why thank you Larry. Trying my hand at barrel coasters with the wide staves at the moment. Curious how they will turn out. Taking weekend off to put the workshop to work helping my daughter build a scale model for a project of hers at UK.

@@TryNewThings I was not making fun of them at all. That was just the first thing I thought of when I saw them. They look very nice.
