This song is so absolutely powerful. It's something about this song that just makes you feel something. Something you can't explain. It's really weird actually..

LaurenFelss for me it's the wide, expanded chords. The beginning chords are just triads with the third up an octave, but something about that gets that lump in my throat and my eyes hide behind the edges of my eyelids, holding back

I have to say something, i never played keyboard before, and when i listen this song, i was so "i have to learn to play a keyboard and play this", so... a friend left his keyboard in my house, and i remember that idea, and took the keyboard, then went to youtube, and i found this video, and started to learn this song, and it took me about 2 hours to learn how to put my hands on the keyboard in every part, and a few more hours to finally play the song by myself (not 100% accurate but c'mon haha), so if you really wanna lear, you can :)

This song, especially near the beginning but mostly everywhere, *really* loves its fifths. I'm no music theory major but it would make sense since that combination of notes creates a feeling often described as home, creating tension, then resolving it when you come home. I like to think that was intentional if I'm right, and if I am, it likely is considering this is *the* Cinematic Orchestra.

You were the most beautiful creature I’ve ever seen. Not to touch, not to be kept but to let live freely. So beautiful the way everything and everyone just floated your way. Watching you is like watching a million stars at night. You were like a single feather, light and easygoing. I never thought I’d ever come close watching something so beautiful, but there you were. Your soul dazzled my heart and I was struck. I wasn’t able to move, my body didn’t respond. You looked me in my eyes and took me to a place. A place I’ve never been at before. A place where butterflies and birds flew together, playing. I looked at you and you smiled. I never felt this way before. I was, happy.

you just have to have the right mindset to learn to play a song like this. it can hurt to try to play such a powerful and challenging song when you don’t think you can do it. giving up will only make it worse and you’ll be too hard on yourself about it.
