Hey Pastor Chuck and crew! I actually have a question that I have been meaning to ask. I am starting to get in the word of God and wanted to know if you have a book that you recommend starting with. I’ve been reading the book of Proverbs, but after watching this, I’m wondering if I should have started with Revelations. P.S- Do you have any study tips into how to Get in God’s Word properly? I feel as if in the past I’ve only been reading it or using as reference rather than studying it thoroughly.

Hi there! My name is Aaron and I am the Online Intern here at Crossroads! Proverbs is such a great book full of wisdom! If you haven’t yet, I would suggest checking out the gospels. These are the first 4 books in the New Testament. Eyewitness sccounts of Jesus’ time on earth and His teachings! Revelation is a great book with so much wisdom and imagery. I would suggest reading it after reading the gospel accounts, as well as getting a greater picture of what the other books in the Bible are leading us to. I believe Revelation ties in every single loose end that you might have after reading the Bible and understanding God‘s love therefore I would suggest having some prior knowledge and background context to the book of revelation. As far as habits and tips go, I would suggest cross referencing for context as you read through the gospels. There are a lot of callbacks to the Old Testament within the gospel accounts, and it would be great if you took a little bit of time to read through those scriptures as you read the gospels. For further questions, feel free to reach out to me via email. My email is Aaronk@crossroadschurch.com.
