Few songs express our deepest regrets. It's as if this one was written and performed just for me. Allyson conjures the haunting voice of the 13-year-old girl who fell in love with me when I was 19. James Williams' dissonant changes on piano combine with Allyson's sweet voice to accuse and convict me. Every line is prophecy come true. "Some day he'll be sorry. Some day, just wait and see. He'll wish he'd gone steady ...with me." For those of us to whom this song applies, we can only play it on rare occasion because it breaks our hearts every time.

The way she delivers the line "I'm grown-up" fits the character she's become in this song. You can see a pouting, young girl watching her "beau" walking off with a woman his own age.
