Thanks for the video. Just bought a Toaks 750ml pot (without the bail) and 450ml cup combo. Pot comes with lid, cup doesn’t. Both come with the orange stuff sack. Looking forward to using them with my MSR Pocket Rocket 2.

Do you think or know if the 550ml toaks would nest inside the 750ml? Or is it just a height difference? Because I already have the 550 and I love it for drinking coffee out of
@fatmanoutdoors6888
3 жыл бұрын
It should fit inside the 550, but the 450 is 10mm taller. Since the height is the only issue, you could put the 450 inside the 550's bag, then put the 550 pot in the bag upside down and throw the lid on top. If that makes sense...lol.

Re-hydrating meals with regular water works pretty good. I've never tried using re-hydrating water.( 2:50 mark ) . The up side is that dehydrated water really would let a person have a lighter pack when walking along. Backpacking supplies are getting better and lighter each day. lol

I have the same stove. It's noisy, but super small and works great. Some kind of a wind guard helps since the fire source blows around a bit. You can spend another $50 on something the same size, but why? Great recommendation. Grabbing this combo of pots tonight.

A word of caution on the stove. Make sure you order from a place like Amazon with a good return policy. I was super jacked to receive this stove. After about 90 seconds it went out and never worked again. I likely got a lemon but I wasn't going to roll the dice again. Also, make sure the arms spread out wide enough to accommodate your pot. A wide pot might be unstable plus it's tough to have full confidence in support arms that are so light.
@fatmanoutdoors6888

Aaron Hartje I hate that brother, it is a cheap product so I could see quality control being lax. Luckily I got a good one, I use it ALOT. Thanks for watching!
@AJHart-eg1ys

No problem. It's so universally recommended that i wanted to make sure that I wasn't panning it in general. People just need to be aware of a couple of things and to be sure they can return it if they have the same experience. The PocketRocket2 weighs about 3x that (still light at 2.6 oz.) and it's been great but I have that kick-ass Stanley cooking kit they sell for $14.97 at WM that tapers at the bottom (which means you can nest it in the $4.97 Ozark Trail camp cup they also sell), and it's almost too narrow for the spread of the support arms on the stove. The remedy I decided on (I mean, who wants to have be that careful in camp?) should prove I'm not turned off completely to Chinese titanium. Toak's is made there and - more importantly - the Toak's generic brand Tomshoo. Today I ordered a 750ml titanium cook pot with handles and a bail for hanging it, for $20 on AliExpress, with free shipping (approx. $36 on Amazon with no Prime available). They also have a kit that comes with a 450ml titanium cup that nests inside the 750ml, and a 5.5" folding titanium spork, all for $40 ($65 on Amazon). A 110g propane canister won't fit inside that 450 ml cup, though, so I just went with the pot. The down side is that AliExpress ships from China, so we're looking at 15-30 business days for it to get here.

How is titanium less durable than stainless steel?
@fatmanoutdoors6888
5 жыл бұрын
To me, it just feels a little more flimsy than my stainless cups. I'm not quoting a scientific study or anything, it's just my opinion. When I squeeze this cup it has some give, I have to squeeze my stainless cup harder to get some give. (Yes "give" is a country term...lol)
