It is so fascinating watching Tod choose his words to communicate, and I must admit have not watched every single video of Tod using the buttons (yet, probably 😅) But do you think there's a chance he may be using "ouch" to indicate when he got hurt from an outside source he is aware of (by that I mean outside of himself, like bumping into something, or a noise scaring him) and "mad" when indicating the pain is from inside (no outside cause for it that he is aware of, like a headache, or stomach pain)?

If Todd was feeling low and stuffy, this makes his many requests for cuddles and brushing make more sense... Not that any cat actually dislikes affection. Just like humans, cats have a little endorphin drop when they receive affection, which makes them feel better over all. Brushing gently and 'properly' also stimulates happy-feel-good chemicals, and they all do love their Pet Parents. I am happy for Todd that he can tell Dad when he needs support for his condition! I hope he's feeling better and is stable in his chronic condition. I have been watching Glamour too, and I think she's a born "Queen Cat" which is similar to a so-called Alpha Dog. She is born to feel like a leader to her local group of cats, and this has her feeling more dignity than the average girl-kitty. I love that Dad will ask if he can pet, that's very good for them both. She feels her dignity is respected, and Dad doesn't feel her wrath for ignoring that digniy! Plus, she's a Grand Dame [female Knoght in England] and Yet she also desires affection, both to receive and to offer in her own way. I love this channel, and that you're proving that cats are are far more intelligent and sentient than beleived by those who deny animals have "human" cognition or Souls. Can't wait for more of Todd's communications!

Fascinating! You say he becomes "stuffy" (I would presume a sinus condition? accompanied by phlegm?). I would posit that the condition is not painful, but is uncomfortable. So Todd makes the distinction. His head is not "Ouch" (painful) but "mad" (stuffed or uncomfortable). This is amazing! Maybe, in addition to "Mad" on the buttons, he could have one that is "Unhappy" or "Discomfort". or "Not good"

So good that he can communicate with you. Our 16 yr old cat, Belle, is having a hard time with her back legs. I have step stools all over the house to help her get up on a sofa or her puff. She gets celensia once a month. However. It has started to wear off before she is due for another shot. so we fill in with gabapentin once or twice a day. We are also going to try some other options too. One being acupuncture. We never thought it would come down to her legs being the culprit.
