Rest in peace Peter Robbins. You did amazing as the first Charlie Brown voice. You had a great voice and did the character perfectly. You put so much emotion into the character that it almost made me cry and I just want to say that you are in my opinion the best Charlie Brown voice. Thank you for sharing your talent with the world.

0:59-1:10 That is what makes Peanuts unique among long-running cartoon IPs. It was the first animation to my knowledge to have real kids voicing the kid characters, and paved the way for many other cartoon television shows and films to do the same. Peanuts is not like other long runner cartoons where a professional adult actor can keep doing the same voices for most of their lives, but I am sure every generation of actors who have performed voices for Peanuts characters in their childhood have had their fun telling people what it was like to be blessed with another one of those voices children can have for Sally or Lucy or Linus or Charlie or Pig-Pen or Peppermint Patty.😊

This is about the only Christmas special that gives the true meaning of Christmas. As Linus quotes from Luke chapter 2 out of the King James Bible, The story of the birth of Jesus Christ the Saviour of the world for all to hear and have heard these many years. That is the best part in this Christmas special. And then also the singing of "hark the herald" at the end, beautiful!

It saddens me to my core that Peter had such unfortunate problems in his life that ultimately led to his suicide. His voice was the most perfect for Charlie Brown. A Charlie Brown Christmas is just a simple little cartoon, but I hope he and all involved understood/understand how much it means to people, especially those in my age range (51). Watching it takes me back to my childhood full of wonderful memories and brings back to life all the family members Ive lost, especially my parents. Merry Christmas to all and RIP Peter and Christopher.

Very sad news to hear of Peter Robbin's suicide. This means that Linus played by child actor (Christopher Shea) has passed away including Snoopy and Woodstock played by( Bill Melendez) are also gone. Lucy played by( Sally Dryer ) who is opening lesbian living with her partner is still around and so is (Cathy Steinberg) who originally played Sally. Peppermint Patty first played by (Gabrielle DeFaria) is also still around. I believe most of the other minor characters in the movies and specials are still with us. It hurt me the most when (Christoper Shea) who played my favorite character Linus died at the young age of 52 . To this day no cause of death other than natural causes is given. RIP Peter Robbins thanks for all the great memories you have given us.

So very sad to hear that Peter passed as he was my age and imho, he had the perfect voice for Charlie Brown - kind of solemn and melancholy. I've watched A Charlie Brown Christmas and It's The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown every year since they both aired in the 60's and they always take me back to my childhood and the winter Dolly Madison, Norelco, and Coca-Cola commercials that sponsored them. That aside from both of these specials being so iconic, wholesome, funny, precious, and of just being such wonderful harbingers of ringing in the magical holiday season! Thanks for making our childhood what you did Peter. Hopefully you and Chris Shea (the voice of Linus who passed in 2010) are walking through the snow in Heaven and picking out your favorite little tree. RIP.

I love seeing former Peanuts voice actors grown up to see and hear what they are doing now, especially if they have never acted in anything else since then. It was funny to see sister and brother Gabrielle DeFaria and Chris DeFaria, and hear Gabrielle say that their family has a consistently gravelly voice that made them great for voicing Peppermint Patty and Pig-Pen.

I am 45 years old. I received my first Charlie Brown book in 1981. I have 6 books including a annual copy of Charlie Brown. I would rather loose my entire worldly possessions than to have anything happen to my modest Charlie Brown collection and if it did I would be devastated. Every one at my school here in the UK was into Garfield. Not me.

Peter Robbins was chosen as the first person to play Charlie Brown in 1963 and Robbins voiced Charlie Brown in numerous Peanuts cartoons in the 1960s from 1965's A Charlie Brown Christmas and until 1969's It Was a Short Summer, Charlie Brown and a movie called A Boy Named Charlie Brown also released in 1969 and after that Robbins could not voice Charlie Brown anymore due to the latter of his voice. Now 44 years later in late 2013, Peter Robbins somehow took his own life and made a lot of criminal threats and was on drugs, sex and nicotine and in December 2015, he was sentenced to five years in prison and Peter's words to when he was sentenced was Charlie Brown's famous saying "Good Grief!". He took anger management classes and by October 2019, he was released from prison and was now a changed man and he touched up his tattoo of Charlie Brown who will forever be part of his past, present and future. Peter suffered a mental illness and on January 18th, 2022, Peter Robbins commits suicide and his death was revealed the following week
