Most people don’t know that brake fluid is hygroscopic and absorbs moisture. Also , under use the brake system can reach 3000 PSI. So the boiling point can become way lower than it should ( like a pressure cooker) Thanks for the advice 👍

The brake issue you are describing is caliper pin issues most of the time. Heating issues on the on the brake system is usually due to ceased caliper pins or caused by the driver. I only replace fluid when replacing one or more calipers. I've done a lot of brake jobs in my shop and have never seen the fluid cause the issue. You guys put out a lot of good videos out. This isn't one of them.

My late cousin gave me his father's 2000 Camry LE on May 23 2018. This coming May 23 2023 I will have had the Camry for 5 years. I don't know if my cousin changed any the fluid or not. I think it's time I do this. Not just brake fluid but all the fluid in the Camry. I changed my oil ever 3000 miles. I use Prestone products. Always have always will. Thanks much for your video. Very helpful.

That brown color? That's rust, primarily from the insides of steel brake lines. The water that is absorbed by brake fluid causes the lines to rust from the inside. Those tiny black specks in the fluid? That's mostly rubber from the hoses and seals breaking down as they age. If you have to replace a wheel cylinder or caliper, replace all of the brake fluid in the system. I love this channel. You do a good job explaining.👍

This video was awesome! Question though: If I’m only doing my front brakes on my 06 Avalon, should I still bleed RR-RL-FR-FL? Or is it okay to only bleed my two front calipers
@paulsmith9341

I installed speed bleeders about a 125,000 miles ago. You just opened them about a half turn and pump the brakes slowly. I attach a clear vinyl tube to the bleeder and have it drain into a catch can. Check the fluid level and the color of the fluid coming out. You can bleed your brakes by yourself and it's easy enough to do every year!

Dude. This needs to be absolute, knowledge for all mechanics. Having a pull to one side or the other does not necessarily mean you have a bad caliper! Although I realize that's the more money way to go..

I am in SAE certified master auto tech and I have a 1994 dodge intrepid SE with 534,000 miles on it I never rotate tires and I do not change brake fluid so all this stuff in this video is pure BS the car ran great and I actually sold it to some dude who wanted to buy my car with all that miles on it! And never pulled and never did anything other than stop the car with no problems. Only change the timing belt and water pump on that thing twice; at the 200,000 mile mark and then at the 400,000 mile mark and it was still running fine when I did it just did it to prevent a problem/maintenance.
