Clarice Cliff was born in 1899 to Harry and Ann Cliff in Tunstall, England. At a young age she was a papier-mâché artist in the pottery industry. By age 13 Clarice worked as a gilder and later went on to study art at Burslem School. Later in life after developing her unique style and skills, Cliff continued her studies at The Royal College of Art. After a long successful career Cliff passed away in 1972 in Clayton, Staffordshire, England, age 73
