Up next is a little bit of bonus material to go along with the recent Pinkpop posts I did. It's 3FM DJ Jamie Reuter chatting with Tom in the backstage area of of the festival, 16th June 2023. It's a great little interview, and there are a lot of familiar topics here, but if I would offer a slight correction. I believe that the first overseas festival Editors played was London Calling in Amsterdam 2005, with Lowlands slightly later. You can see the full set from that show here at the Archive on KZitem by using this link:-

If you'd like to take a look at the concert at Lowlands 2005 where their equipment went missing, you can see that here:-

As Tom says, it was almost 20 years ago so its totally understandable that it's not fresh in the mind, and that brings up a bit of a tricky problem. Something that I think about a lot, actually. It must be a surreal experience to be living your life knowing that people are actively watching and even documenting it, resulting in them having a better memory of your own personal timeline that you do. I suppose it goes hand in hand with being a performer and playing to a room full of people who know lots about you, but you have don't even know any of their names. It's abnormal, and I am aware that I'm part of that problem in that regard.
It's a thin, thin line between invasion of privacy and being an entusiastic fan and I hope I am able to navigate it. The primary aim is to share this thing that has brought so much happiness into my life with others, whilst simultaneously trying to not to objectify or commodify those involved in the process. As I said, very tricky. Enjoy the chatter ;)
