+Joseph Dungee I grew up in the 60s and 70s in the DFW area and Landry was a hero. Excellent coach, classy gentleman and a WINNER! Real, old school football.

Paul Dirac Agree with that. Reminds me a lot of Tom Osborne of Nebraska. Both Christian men and that tried to do the right thing most of time and winners in Football and more importantly, life.

While Riverfront stadium was being finished in 1967,he watched from the downtown area and spoke w/quite a few,i ran into him said hi,and had a short conversation because he always wore that hat,Don Meredith was the pick for that year and my high school was preparing for a state championship. The superbowl number 1 was Green Bay vs Baltimoe Colts/Starr VS Unitas QB

@@jaylucien669 Why would Landry be watching the completion of Riverfront when it began construction in 1968? Meredith the pick for that year?

Just some kook looking for attention. I read some newspaper accounts of the game and apparently towards the end, someone called back in and said that since Landry was being protected, "they may as well take out Robinson," referring to Rams coach John Robinson.
