@@robslater5528 Well done him - and I mean that . I don't know if you are in the UK but ' just one thing ' Dr Michael Mosley did an alien about eccentric exercise . So they gave a training regime to a group who had to go up the stairs in a talk building ,band come down in a lift . Then they reversed it and got people to go up in the lift and then come down the stairs . Counter intuitively it was the ' descending the stairs group ' who had improved their fitness . I do a lot of walking on the Downs . I always felt that the downhills had little training effects compared to the uphills . The fact that the downhills also have a training effects is heartening ! With the downhill cycling I do respect their fearlessness , and if they are fearful then even more respect to them . ✌️

My son was a Cat 2 Junior Road Race champ. The insane fearlessness he & his race mates showed on descents gave me the willies. They'd be flying down 10% + grades at 50-60 mph inches apart. One wrong move & ugly bloody tangle instantly. I'd go down the same descents - I'm a decent (but recreational) Roadie myself - but I'd back off at 45mph lol. The Pros & high level Cat 1/2 amateurs are stunning, no doubt.
