Oh thankgod..... I'm not the only one! 😂 I'm 33 and just feel in love with Tom Skerritt as a teenager but NOBODY of my generation had a clue who I meant. My husband is 21 years older than me and thinks it's absolutely hilarious this is my favorite actor (he jokingly tells people "She just likes geriatric men" lol)

Really Alien and Bladerunner were groundbreaking films... Hard to appreciate how epic they were in my youth, but after so many terrible films have been made since, you really realize how great of a filmmaker Ridley Scott actually is. I wish films these days were made with the same passion AND skill, but here we are

Happy Birthday Tom Skerritt. UR awesome legend. I love Ted. Its hilarious. And I love Alien and Alien Isolation. Awesome movie and game. I seen all 6 of them. Prometheus 1, Alien 2 Covenant, Alien 3, Aliens 4, Alien 3 5, and Alien 6 Resurrection. I guess it. Still, its true. Also, Sigourney Weaver remind me of my mother. Seriously, she does look similar to her. The hair. Alien is a good horror movie. "In space no one can hear u scream." Alien reminds me of "Dead Space DownFall", "Dead Space Aftermath" and the games. Pretty kool. Full support for u Tom. May the Peace be with u Catpain Dallas. From Harlingen Texas. August 25, 1933 August 25, 2023 through August 25, 3023

I have watched a few of Bobbie Wygant's "Alien" related interviews, and she keeps coming back to, and stressing, the "gore", which she seems to believe the film has an abundance of. When she was interviewing Ridley Scott, he pointed out that the film only has once brief scene with blood in it, therefore only one brief bit of "gore". Bobbie essentially told him that he was wrong about that, and he pointed out that viewers of the film always seem to remember there being more blood in the film than there actually is. It is disappointing for a journalist or interviewer to keep going on with something so incorrect in her perception, and dragging her hapless interviewees through the awkward position of trying to politely correct her.

technically I think there was one more point later in the movie with about three frames of gore that lasted for maybe a 10th of a second, but for the most part ridley was right. I thought her pollyanna-ish naievete charmed the cast into showing their best side and giving some good responses so I enjoyed watching them, but I guess you're right that at least ridley deserved some meatier questions.

Wasn't it though? They could have easily given away everything... The poster teases your brain... Just enough... Ridley learned from Jaws and Star Wars (and others)... you can tell... His slow camera pacing and "throw the audience" into the world without explanation made the films THAT much more real, even by todays standards...

It’s because it’s shot with one camera. First they film Tom and his answers, then the interviewer. So everything is set, there is no room for improvisation on the interviewing side, or it won’t add up during the montage

@@jedijones yes they certainly were, but during the conversation the camera was pointed at Tom. Then after the interview is done and Tom leaves, the camera is pointed at the interviewer, and the questions are filmed. It’s a common technique if you film interviews with a single camera
