Folks pay attention because you may never see a better short bio of Tom T Hall. I’m amazed at the amount of accurate and relevant information Mr Skinner was able to include in such a brief time without seeming rushed. Tom T Hall was above all else an original. As is Jerry Skinner.

@@JerrySkinner1943 I know he had a brother named Hillman, who was quite a good songwriter and singer. There are some Hillman songs here on YT. My favorite song of Tom's is Once Upon a Road. He also had emphysema, I remember as a kid both my grandpas had that. Truly horrible and I can see that along with missing Miss Dixie, left him in pain so deep that it took a bullet to relieve the pain. I got to have a conversation with him back in the early 70s about the songs he recorded with Patti Page and how those songs came about. Thank you for this wonderful tribute.

This is a wonderful overview of Tom's life and career. So well done with taste and accuracy. Thank you. It was fun to see the pic of that long ole limo included. When Tom bought that black Limo from Johnny Cash, it was considered the longest limo in the country at the time. Tom gave me the chauffeur's cap that the driver wore, and it's among my treasured items.

It was back in the sixties, my wife had left me with our two baby's and i was staying in my van down by the Broad Run River in Manassas Virginia. The road also led to the small airport. It was late night and i was just drinking a beer before trying to get some sleep . A car stopped right behind me and a man got out and walked up to my driver side window. I was thinking i might be about to get robbed so i reached between the seat and grabbed a tire iron just in case. Then the man said hello, and told me he and his friend was parked in their camper at the airport and they were waiting for Tom T. Hall to get there as he was flying in . They were members of his band, and they asked me if i wanted to come with them and drink a beer while we waited and i would meet Tom T. Hall. I did go with them and we drank some beer, but i had to work next morning and Tom T was late. I wish i had stayed and met him, and kick myself every time i think about that. He was one of my idols and grew up in the area i was from. Daddy was a coal miner back then. Anyhow, that is my story. Thank you for this great video.
