Just a little vid for friends and family to enjoy! A look at our personal experience with the Black Prince tomato in September of 2022. Thanks for watching!
The black Prince is a siberian Variety, i had it 2 years, similar to the Olena ukrainian (which is bigger) and the black krim.

Thanks tons! Thanks for the info. A great history behind many tomatoes. A type from Siberia means a strong cold tolerance. :)

@@UT33200 shure...productivity wise i would say olena ukrainian is the best, black krim the least, and the taste... i think they are quite similar, i can't say black krim is much better

I just call them dark or dusky tomatoes.

Thanks a bunch! 'Dark' might be a bit of a blanket reference to alot of the darker types but 'Dusky' sounds like a great term and will have to start using it to describe these types. :)

Thanks a bunch! Our neighbors yard will look like ours in no time. She is even doing better than us on several of our types. LOL

Thanks for the video. My black prince cracked a lot, but I live in the south. This year the garden has so much shade. I don’t know if that’s why I didn’t have much production or not. Next year I am trying some hybrids and determinates to see how their production goes. Do you have any suggestions for higher production from the tomatoes you have grown? Thank you!! Also I bought a soil from a landscaper and the tomatoes were not very big most of the time too.

Thanks a bunch! I have seen the Black Prince crack quite a bit for others too and think we just got lucky. For higher production there are alot of things that can help. Regular fertilizing, even watering(no over/under), root space to grow, etc. but I would say our biggest is cutting back. It is hard to recommend since it adds so much work but we micro manage and trim our plants frequently. Especially with indeterminate tomatoes. They will grow all plant unless cut way back to push production. There is alot of good strategies about this. One of the main ones being removing 'suckers' to focus more on growth. Determinate are alot less to worry about but can benefit from it alot as well.
