I'm not surprised that you've changed campers. I think a reason for change video would be very beneficial. What you liked, didn't like about your previous camper & any improvements to it that would make it better.

With the kitchen roll, I just crush the roll BEFORE putting it on the roller bar and this prevents the roll from such a free flowing escape.

Great tip! I’ve also seen someone use an elastic band around the roll as another idea! Thanks for sharing :)

Hi George, Thanks for your introduction to your Tommy Camper. I noticed that you have GVM upgrade and a 2 inch lift on the car. Would you be able to tell me the total height of car with camper on. Thanks heaps and wishing you safe and happy travels, Best Regards, Kurt

Hey Kurt, no worries - the Ute with the camper on is about 2.5m (with the camper closed). Cheers, George

A great walk around thanks. You touched on the weights but any chance of what it actually came in at fully loaded. I’m trying to find out if I can make it work on my old Patrol. I’d also be very interested in why the change over. I’m also looking at the Trayon mainly because they say they are the lightest. Was there much of a difference in the weights between the two?

No worries, thanks! I went into more detail in this video: kzitem.info/news/bejne/1H6p05eusaZ2ZXosi=Y8Zx3nHXM4ZlGXgv In terms of weights, they are very similar. The S6 Tommy is about 350kg dry. By the time you fully load both campers you will be looking at 500-600kgs so it soon adds up! We would be over our GVM if we didn’t have a GVM upgrade. Both great campers, it really depends on what style of travelling you do (one night or multiple nights), set up time and if you want your kitchen indoors or outdoors.

Nice upgrade ... is the camper easier to take off compared to the old camper or is taking it off too hard so not an option ?
@GeorgeSoan

Thanks! Similar process, the Tommy Camper legs look well built too. We will probably leave the Tommy Camper on our tray 99% of the time because the setup of popping the roof will be quicker than trying to take it off
