Hi Everyone, I wanted to share a real backpack with you that I thought was worth the look. If this size isn't for you, you can find a smaller version (28L) that would count as a personal item.

Has anyone ACTUALLY *TESTED* the 28L as a personal item that could fit under the seat? I'm tempted to just use a carryon luggage AND the 28L backpack personal item hack so that I don't have to check in anything under the damn plane. At best, I'm trying to avoid any luggage screwups going through plane changes at halfway points. A few years back, my checked in luggage was delayed by over a few days because some yahoo at the layover mixed up someone else's luggage - and the last thing I wanna do right now is repeat it despite the astronomical chance it may or may NOT happen again.

Hi @@obsidiansands I have tested out the 28L and it is most definitely a personal-size bag for most US carriers, (not European one, though), and I would always check with the airline you are considering. The reason we bought the larger version is because we needed the extra space for our cruise to Alaska, and we were only taking carry on. I have to say that I am considering buying the 28L again, since most of the time we don't need such a large backpack. btw, even the lager one fit under the seat on Delta and Jetblue (although we did take the extra leg room on both flights). btw, the dimensions of the 28L is 18.11 x11.81 x7.87 inchs. Hope this helps.

@@PerriesPassport I'm using EVA Air for the first time going to the Philippines, and I've heard that they can be a bit stricter. That's why I want to be a little more careful. Thanks for the tip! Will see how that will go.

@@obsidiansands My I suggest, buying the bag from Amazon and testing it out at the airport. You can always return it. Then you don't have to worry.

This will be perfect if it has waist belts.

Hi @kathyferro3524 I have to say, that it was not hard on the back or the shoulders. But of course, I can't tell the difference a waist belt would have made since it didn't have one. I did end up carrying it into Denali, which was not hard, though.

Hi @noellowery6542 ! This is one of my favorite larger backpacks. It has so many great functions without a big price tag and it even looks good! Thanks for watching!

I like the fact you reminded me to verify size with the airline I travel frequently to the Caribbean. Small planes, small carry-ons. I totally overlooked and now ready to order one.

Hi @hpain6261 I think that is one of the most overlooked thing when people buy luggage of any type, so I try to always mention that. I'm glad I could be of service!!

Could I bring this backpack as a personal item if I don't stuff it full?

Hi @FutileGrief. Sadly no, but they make a 28L version of the bag that is very roomy, has the same design features, and counts as a personal item. You can find it here: amzn.to/4buCkvy

Hi @marthameyer7918 Thanks for watching! What I like about it is that it can be as large or as small as you need. They also make a 28L version, which is a personal item size.

CorSurf is a backpack we chose for our trip to Europe (28L) for a personal item. We loved it so much we also got a 40L for our travels. You may want to look at that one, too. Thank you!

My wife bought this backpack for a trip last fall and was very happy with it. She packed her CPAP in a packing cube on the bottom of the pack and had lots of room for the rest of her carry on stuff.

Hi, @billjoyce My hubby decided he liked it and so we used it as an axillary bag to our carry-ons for our Alaska cruise. He loved it. It's such a great bag,!
