I wonder if it’s worth the purchase for no prep drag racing?

I like that this exists for those who want it. However, I personally see some issues. Is it possible to calibrate the machine? In a fixed FDR regulation class, a 0.01/2 discrepancy as we see here would be enough to see you disqualified. It also looks like you'll need to remove your body at tech inspection, which is a lot of time if done for every car. Also the sensor on the motor looks to be quite large - on my frontie for example I have a 40mm fan in front of the motor against the servo, 3x bullet connections and motor wire, plus the sensor lead and servo lead running over the motor. Then the motor itself is right against the ESC. On some builds, this sensor literally won't fit.

We tested also on FWD cars and was no problem to check. With 0.01 difference to the rules you can be sure that the driver is not trying to cheat. Nobody will cheat by 0.01 as it makes zero difference on track. Yes you need to remove or fold the body shell upwards to make the check but hey - yesterday there was no machine like this available and this one is really really good!

Just a suggestion, perhaps maybe in the future development if it is viable to use a y harness sensor cable to have the rpm values to be more precise Keep up the great job!

the value "stabilizes" after a couple of seconds (when the rpm is stable) - the optimal motor rpm is around 10-15k (it is shown in the display while measuring - Patrick uses a bit too low rpm in the video)... see kzitem.info/news/bejne/mXiMnp6GsKB0ZmU

@@huntsolofighter4265 the problem with y harness is that you have to remove the plugs - which is quite fiddly + has the probability to damage the pins... we think this causes more problems/harm (who pays for the replacement?) than it solves

the sensor size: during our testing at the ETS events we tested hundreds of cars/builds... the sensor did fit every time (we always found a spont to place it and get the reading)

Does it just sit on the hex? Do you put pressure on it against the wheel to use? Wouldn’t that effect the measurements?

It just sits on the hex yes. It does not have any influence on the measuring results. You can easily feel when using 🙂
