Uhm, that’s not the primary thing about the name kill Tony… the main thing is as a comedian “to kill” means you’re making the audience laugh hard. So when he says he’s grooming killers in comedy speak that means he’s grooming comedians who can make the audience really laugh. So if they kill Tony, they made Tony laugh hence the name of his show. The name kill Tony is because the bucket pulls want to make Tony laugh = so that’s how to kill Tony. YW

…i never in a million years would have ever made the Kill Bill connection. Hell, I somehow didn’t even notice the reference! Knowing that though, Kill Tony makes sense on a whole different level now. Kill Tony is probably one of the single most important format comedy shows of our lifetime, if not all of Stand Up comedy as concept and community. Tony will go down as one of the most influential and important figures in comedy of all time.
