The performance by keyboardist Tony Roe and percussionist Vernon Chatlein was entitled: “An exciting search for new music, from the tradition and the future.”
Both musicians have a great love for improvisation and Music Meeting brought them together on stage for the first time.
Tony Roe - keys
Vernon Chatlein - percussion
All compositions by E.A. Roe / V. Chatlein
Tony Roe has a European background as a pianist in jazz and classical music. He has been running his 'live electronic' trio Tin Men & the Telephone for years, but he is also captivated by the modular synthesizers.
Percussionist Vernon Chatlein, born and raised in Curaçao and musically trained in Cuba, uses historical research into the Caribbean and Curaçao music tradition as a springboard to launch new concepts.
Chatlein and Roe both have Curaçao roots and that is clearly reflected in this performance. Electronic music in dialogue with the Caribbean music tradition.
