Honestly I never got the bull joke as it pertains to this. Like, I feel like I get the Augustus thing, but when Tony tells the bull joke it makes me second guess myself, like there's something I must be missing.

@@emilynace3090iirc this scene was in response to Junior taxing extra to show his hand after becoming the boss and feeling he wasnt really in charge. The Augustus analogy was obviously a way for Tony to hint "If treat your men better you'll rule longer'. The bull joke was a way for Tony to say "have some patience" because Junior would be able to get money out of upcoming deals. idk, thats just how i always saw it

Yolo Swaggins you mean before Junior hears that Tone is meeting with his capos behind his back and playing June like a fiddle, and Junior then tries to whack Tony which goes wrong and Tony gets his revenge by killing nearly all of Juniors crew members and usurping his position and after that Junior gets dementia, loses his memory and shots Tony and put him into coma. And then Junior completely lost all of his memory and is all alone in the loony bin. With downhill you talk about that right?

The realism of a nephew talking to his uncle here is what made the Sopranos great. It was the connections between the people that the audience had a connection eith too. The writers drew apon real issues that the everyday person could relate to, it just so happned that it was also about mobsters and casual killing that fascinated people.

These college drop outs who have never read a book get almost all their wit and references from documentaries or movies on television. That's the funny part. Tony was into war documentaries at this part of the show. Made him sound smarter and probably taught some strategy.

What’s sad is that Tony is obvious very intelligent and knowledgeable about history, but he’s surrounded by others who can’t seem to understand a point without a crude joke or expression. Tony’s historical analogy is lost on Junior because Tony is capable of understanding far more than his course in life allowed him to. Tony could have been a great man if he wanted to.

Shozil 〽10 It’s an old joke about being cool, patient and smart enough to get bigger gains in the long term instead of scrambling for immediate gratification. Tony tells it as a way to convince junior that if he spreads his wealth around to his Capos now, it’ll pay off in the long run.

Used to be pretty common honestly. For the local leagues baseball and basketball games, lots of people from the neighborhood would come and watch all the games. In my neighborhood anyway
