Agreed. It's annoying when people bring up numbers and polls, because all the polls and numbers showed that Hillary would win. Also, we have no idea of knowing how they could have changed through the general election cycle. I mean, I know people who didn't vote for Hillary because they thought her ideas were "too socialistic". Hank had the perfect response to that question.
@sikamaru666
7 жыл бұрын
+Ashley Meijer Well not all the polls showed Hillary would win vs Trump. LA Times/USC Tracking had Trump ahead 3,4 points in like every poll they conducted.Thing is very few took that poll seriously and if they even included it in their prediction they were openly mocked, thats how the 98% chance of winning was made.

I eat the whole pear. Core and all. I just leave the stem at the end. The core in a pear is softer than and apple, and as long as you avoid chewing the seeds, which there aren't many of, it tastes pretty fine! I eat the core of the apple too, though it is less pleasant. Why waste food and add to the landfill? That's my motto anyways.

I I had to pause this one in the middle to do something and I have to say the face John is making at 2:08 is fantastic. You can interpret it many ways but I think it conveys his love of pears quite well. It also made me think of a topic for HFS, the science of the face, or facial expressions... ok the truth is I feel like the HFS guests could spend 10 or so hilarious minutes speculating about the cause of the face and discussing the muscles needed to make it!

In regard to the Vidcon car question, there are plenty reasonably-priced hotels (and some really expensive ones) within walking distance of the convention center! KZitem randomly suggested this video this morning and I'm so relieved. I've recently started to worry that adopting the feral cats that came with my last house (in addition to the two I already had) put me at risk of becoming a crazy cat lady. But now I know I'm only halfway there. Thanks Hank! Also, should I be worried that as soon as I started to worry about "how many cats is too many?" the internet offered up an answer? I swear it was just something I was wondering in my head.....

Printmaking was one of my favorite, but time consuming, art classes I took. For one of my projects, instead of carving into metal or wood, I used a small CNC milling machine (my dad's) to carve out some super geometric designs into clear sheet acrylic. My professor went ape shit over them because he'd never had someone use that method before. I haven't thought about that class in a while. I should find those prints and photograph them.

So following tht podcast, I did some minimal linguistics research and it turns out that the sound they're looking for is called an ezh and is a frequent problem for Anglicising of certain languages because we don't have a great way of representing it. However, there are two ways that are usually used. Depending of your keyboard capabilities, you can use the dictionary symbol which kind of looks like a 3 with a straight top instead of curved, or, more realistically, usually the letters "zh" are used making what I think is the best spelling uzhe.
