The FI album is immaculate live. I've been lucky enough to see the tour 7 times. I would go again in a heartbeat.

And to think that sound is coming from a bass. I'm not sure there is a sound Justin can't make on that bass.

As Tool fans we waited thirteen years for this album…. And in true Tool form they opened the album with a banger….I know you have some fans of old Tool ( undertow, opiate) but clearly when you give masters over a decade to create something new you get a masterpiece of an album… Jojo would like this album 😂

The first FI concert I went to started with this song. Each time the opening sound happened it lit up 1 random member and the light faded out with the sound... it was magical

Fear Inoculum is the maturity evolution of Tool. Very different emotionally. All the anger, hate, and sadness dissolved in the 13 year wait. This album gives you more of a subtely powerful message about humanity and our future. LOVE this album. Well worth the wait!! I look forward to your reactions every time I come home from work. It's my unwind to hear a Tool song and start my afternoon off! 🤘

I appreciate that! Their music has little easter eggs that you can find after several listens. I'm finding that out.

Cool little fact that I think you'll enjoy....and knowing that you realize how precise and thought out this band is, Maynard says the word "Mitosis" (the act of splitting a cell in two) he says it at the exact midpoint of the song, so actually splitting the song in two....they made it work....and if you ever get a chance, see this band live, I've seen them 14 times since 93....including 4 times on the FI tour over 4 years, they are absolute precision live, album quality and visually stunning

It is cool for me to see you more relaxed and enjoying your reactions. Nice. Quick question - if you have time - we are about the same age I am guessing and I liked Tool since i heard Sober, and I REALLY liked Tool once I grew up a bit more around when Lateralus came out. Why didn't you hear and/or enjoy Tool in your younger years?
@B-Drags-Den

Most of my in depth music listening early on was hair bands and grunge. Not to mention classic rock. I think Tool was just so different at the time it didn't catch me. I had heard of them but didn't pay too much attention to them at the time.

@@B-Drags-Den You won't be surprised to hear my favorite bands growing up (before Tool) were Van Halen, Scorpions, Dokken and Metallica.

If you haven't already done it, listen to Tool's song "Pushit" album version and then the Salival album version. You wont regret it. I see you did Pushit so dont skip the Salival version

Both concerts I went to opened with this. I can't begin to describe how this felt when the lights when down and these sound came in, it penetrated my being... Instant meditative state. Perfect opening. They wrote this BEFORE Covid but damn did it feel relevant. However, my take on it is it is about the contagion of fear & hate. Fear is a powerful force that can be used to poison your view of the world and its people. This song is about banishing this poison and inoculating yourself against the hate mongering.

IMO, wait until the end of your Tool discography to react to Third Eye & 7empest. I would of also suggested waiting for Lost Keys / Rosetta Stoned but that ship sailed 😂 🤘🏻🌀

The effects are nice, but the melody and rhythm are a bit boring compared to the traditional music of Middle East, Africa, and Asia that have likely influenced Tool.
