Is the API service running? Two containers should be running, one on 8080 ( gui ) and one on 8081 ( api ), so if the API service isn't running that might explain why nothing changes

@@LearnSBOMhow can I check if its running?

Depending how you're using docker, they should appear in docker desktop or in "docker ps" if you're using the CLI as "dtrack-apiserver" and "dtrack-frontend" if using the docker compose file without changes ( github.com/DependencyTrack/dependency-track/blob/master/src/main/docker/docker-compose.yml ). You can additionally try "docker compose up" without the -d flag ( which runs as detached ) to see if any error messages occur when the containers are starting. Deleting previous images / containers is also always worth a shot.

How to change the default port number(8080) of Dependency tracker to unused other port as it is clashing with Jenkins , Please help i have gone through docs didn't find. And un installation process via docker
@LearnSBOM

Hi, the gui runs on port 8080, the backend api runs on 8081 so any HTTP requests shouldn't clash. To change the port, open the docker-compose.yml file and change the external port in the dtrack-frontend service ( line 131 ) to the desired port, ie "8080:8080" -> "8082:8080". In this example, the gui will be available at localhost:8082 after relaunching the application. As for uninstalling, this is a good article that walks you through removing containers, images, and volumes: www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/how-to-remove-docker-images-containers-and-volumes Hope this helps! - Derek

Hi, in my case the app doesn't display any vulnerabilities. It loaded sbom file (components) and thats all. Did I forget about something?
@LearnSBOM
2 жыл бұрын
Hopefully that's a good thing! It should mean that none of the components have any vulnerabilities. If you're unconvinced, you can try another tool to validate that there's no vulnerabilities or generate an SBOM for a vulnerable project and try uploading that. Here's a few that we use for testing that have known vulnerabilities: github.com/opsxcq/docker-vulnerable-dvwa github.com/anxolerd/dvpwa Hope that helps! -Derek

what is the exact purpose of SQL database? Do I really need it for production?
@LearnSBOM
Жыл бұрын
The SQL database is required for storing SBOMs for storing SBOMs that have been uploaded and I believe it is required to launch the application. You can read more about the databases here: docs.dependencytrack.org/getting-started/database-support/ Hope this helps! - Derek

I would double check the documentation for using other databases: docs.dependencytrack.org/getting-started/database-support/. It may be a small thing with your configuration files
