First time i saw them was on a very overcast but bright day, Adam played a 2-string bass and Paul D'Amour played guitar. The first long note Maynard sang in Intolerance made the whole hillside crowd say "Whoa" at once. Maybe 5% of the crowd was there for Tool.

On one hand it was weird to hear him singing in a lower register than I’m used to hearing, and then I casually remembered it’s been nearly fifteen years since this song was released. Maynard’s probably accounting for the deepening of his voice with age and he’s doing it incredibly.

InfliiKted that's not true, he started standing at the back of the stage years and years before this song was released, they usually play indoors where the set is much darker and Maynard feels more comfortable, it's to do with his performance anxiety that just became one of his trademarks over the years.

I was there. One of the greatest live experiences I’ve ever had. I had my eyes closed for about 70% of the set 😂 Just swaying blindly with the crowd somewhere near the front with my best mate, losing ourselves in the music, totally present, but at the same time floating into the ether. Honestly one of the most connected musical experiences I’ve ever had.

I’ll take what I can get - I’m 66 years old and I’ll be dead before they do a proper headline show in the UK 🙄 I’ve seen all the greats since the late 1960’s and Tool are up there with them. This gig reminded me a bit of the first time I saw Zeppelin - feeling the presence of greatness.

God they're sounding amazing. I remember Maynard was struggling slightly with his voice a few years back (no surprise from the years of belting out insane screams) but here he's sounding very refreshed and healthy.

I saw them in anchorage then they played at the Sullivan arena. It was the best thing to happen to Alaska since the permanent fund dividend.

I've heard the metronome uses Danny to keep time. Fuck his tempo is immaculate the entire way through. I've held off listening to the new songs til the album drops but hearing them live and how good they are sounding is making this wait so much harder. Lord give me strength.

Same with A Perfect Circle. Seen them in Dec and came away thinking Maynard sounds like his 2001 prime. 5th time seen Tool/APC and by far the best they've sounded.

I left the arena feeling worn out but in a way I'd never experienced before. For hours afterwards I felt this way and I genuinely feel something happened to me during that performance. There was some shift or change in me and I really can't explain it
