But dude, using the nails to kinda nail the boards together instead of using nails to actually nail the boards together was gold.

I wasn't impressed by most of these, but the ratchet in the hook was pretty cool.

The two joints you showed must be done nearly perfect otherwise they will simply fall apart within a few months. The two wedges joint will start to crack significantly more over time and after a few months in almost all conditions will loosen and fall apart. The snipped nails joint must be done with either a special nail or a zero movement nail. Those nails have ridges that simply poke out instead of the normal groves that face the head making it anchor more securely.

Every one of these except the hook one seems really sketchy. Would not attempt.

Haha I love how all of these handy videos are memes of bad ideas. So many of these are just a complete waste of time at best, and at worst a very hard lesson to be learned not to cut corners

The wrench in the hook seems actually useful. Like yeah I could buy a thing designed for screwing those in, but I frankly don't do that enough to warrant spending the money. Also the wedge joint is an actual type of joint. It's called a fox wedge mortise. While a rare joint it does have its applications, those being mostly were a pulling force is the main force you are worrying about. The flaring the pipe was literally just a flaring tool so the hack is literally just spend money.

I enjoyed the way the first clip, with the clipped off nails, didn't show how poorly the wood pieces aligned with each other.
