I think the best way to invest is to grab Lego sets when they're 50% off. Ideally the sets that you like or have parts/figures that are useful to you. This way if they're not valuable in a year you can still just open them and use the parts and enjoy the set. Added bonus of some deboxed sets still being worth a lot because of the minifigures (Scooby Doo for example).

I think peoples true top 10s are kept up their sleeves, and rightly so after the research involved. Great KZitemrs like yourself are highly influential meaning people will go out and buy a lot of sets in your list like last years Medieval Blacksmith, the market is saturated in these meaning they’ll be much more of a long hold. I was guilty of picking up 7. I love that hardly anybody was talking about the Mario 64 Question Mark block that snuck off shelves here in the UK before they retired at the end of July. This set in the UK was £170 and I never saw it on sale. It now goes for £220 on Amazon a few days into retirement.

To people who want to invest in Lego sets, don't do it. You only hear about the few who got lucky, not those who are stuck with sets nobody wants anymore. So then who will want my Lego sets for investor's price?
@JakesBricks
Ай бұрын
Hey AK! this is always the risk with investing. But there are always collectors who “don’t have the money now” who have it later and are willing to pay a premium for a set they want later. I sell >2500 sets a year. I stock some of your sets in smaller amount. But lets Share 1 of my Top 5-10 Sets in 2024. The 60287!!! It will not get 200% ROI but easy 80-100 % if you buy this with 30% discount on list price. For EU it will work out for US i am not sure…. Great video - love the enthusiasm. I don't think Harry Potter sets are worthwhile investments any more, and haven't been for several years. Brickheadz/Speed Champions also seem to have stalled in recent years - certainly in the UK, where the Lego resale market is saturated and short-term ROI's are mostly poor. I think long term holds for collectable/iconic medium to large sets are the best bet now. The NASA Space Shuttle, Ideas Typewriter, Ghostbusters Ecto 1, Back to the Future Delorean, El Dorado Fortress, Ideas Globe, Nintendo Entertainment System, Indiana Jones Temple, and Technic Rescue Helicopter will all do well in the next 4-5 years in my view. Even the Ideas Tree House should be a good investment, despite its long shelf life. Larger sets need more storage space, but are much less hassle than listing/packing/sending lots of small sets (and can usually be shipped in the original box they arrived in).
@JakesBricks
