Sometimes I wonder if its her earlier fans who didn't like seeing her this way. Could it possibly be that vain? In my opinion, there was nothing sexist about it either. Cooper wanted her stripped down raw, someone struggling to make it in the industry who's confidence and self-esteem was broken. I associate the glamourous heavy makeup with one who's already established that status. It just wouldn't have fit the story. Ally was authentic from the beginning, in every way.

And while her acting skills are nowhere near gaga’s she definitely had the background to bring to this movie, especially as she grew up in the south too. Great video, but a minor note: The name of the song made famous by Judy Garland is "Over the Rainbow" and Gaga didn't just hum it, she sang the full opening lines that most people are unfamiliar with. This happens at the beginning of the film when she's leaving the restaurant where she works and walking out into the night. It's a lovely tribute to Judy and Gaga nails it beautifully.

I think I can speak for many/most from my generation (I'm 47) when I say Gaga looks 125% BETTER without makeup. I know that's not what her fans are used to and something she quickly went back to after shooting this film. It must have been a awkward thing for her but I'm positive it created more fans. Now that she has added acting to her resume I can throw it out there that Gaga may very well wind up being the most influential female performer of all time. Yes bigger than Cher, Madonna or Tina. Certainly bigger that Beyonce, who wouldn't be as big as she is without her writers, dancers, producers, ect. Not to mention I don't think she'll be relevant in 10 years but Gaga, most definitely will.

Contains spoilers but here is what I found out about it 1. Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper performed live on stage for the songs as Gaga said she hates watching a film with actors lipsynching. 2. The opening scene was shot in Glasonbury in 2017 as some band was playing and Cooper joined on stage as his charcther. 3. To make Bradley appear zoned out he had Menthol injected under his eyes to make him look high and had to go for a full spray tan for his colouring. 4. When Bradley's charcther hangs himself in the film, Gaga couldn't watch the scene so she left flowers in his truck and walked off. 5. When Ally sings I never love again she is singing it emotionally, that is because Lady Gaga's best friend died from cancer as she was on the phone to her husband and spoke to her for a short period before she passed away. She didn't want to sing the song but Cooper insisted so that Gaga can feel the emotions of the song better 6. Bradley Cooper's real life dog Charlie appears in the film as Ally and Jackson's dog. 7. When Ally sings outside the alleyway when A Star Is Born logo appears this is a nod to Judy Garland who appeared in the 2nd remake of A Star Is Born. 8. Demi Lovato,Kesha,Beyonce,Johnny Depp,Leonardo DiCaprio, Will Smith,Jennifer Lopez are just some of the actors wh o were rumoured to be in the film as Ally and Jack but it went to Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper. 9. Bradley met Lady Gaga at a cancer charity event and he knew she would be perfect as the female lead. 10. Lady Gaga dyed her hair brown and wore less makeup as Bradley wanted her to be as natural as possible. I think that's all I can come up with. Such a tearjearker yet I loved the film and so did my mom. Ps the soundtrack to this is addicted and the 2 main leads had brilliant chemistry it didn't come across as fake. They reminded me of Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon as Johnny Cash and June Carter

Hey, just a minor correction for your #5 fact - when Gaga had returned to set, after visiting her friend who had just passed away that day, Cooper told her she didn't have to sing/do the scene that many times if she wasn't up for it, but Gaga insisted, telling him "I just want to sing right now." I first heard her tell of this, in an interview featured on this page/story: www.vanityfair.com/hollywood/2018/10/lady-gaga-ill-never-love-again-music-video-a-star-is-born

And... i LOVED the movie but i would have appriciate if they changed the end! To show that Rez cant say to Jackson that things wont get better like all the bullys say! I wish it showed him comming to the concert and battling his deminds to show there is hope for substence abuse and mental illnes and that suicide ia not yhe answer!

@@strugglingdiego i know but this rnding is a known ending to all and i wish that this version showed the 2018 mindset that people can change and overcome it all.. and thst a man can be with a succefull woman. Great job on giving the facts of the movie! That is amazing that Bradley learned guitar and piano for the role. Those are two hard instruments to learn...I'm curious at how long it took him to learn them each. Maybe he's just naturally gifted and picked up on it quickly... Idk how long it took him to learn, but that's impressive. He looked like a natural in the movie!

I did not know the first factoid but I just have to say I am so glad that it wasn't Beyoncé because then we wouldn't have this moment with Bradley and Gaga which is just movie magic and seriously like I don't think the chemistry would have been the same between Bradley and Beyoncé and I do compare it to "The Bodyguard" but only when I am talking about the last song and "I Will Always Love You". Plus it would have felt like that because you have a white guy who is with a black female so I mean the comparisons would have been there. This is totally my favorite movie of the year and it's because the casting was so on point.

The point of the makeup removal is that shes beautiful no matter what. People despite their looks are all beautiful and unique. What we see as unattractive is only originality. The older you get the more you realize vanity is the last thing that matters. This movie is one of my all time favorites. Not just the story but the chemistry between Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga. It was magical.

I enjoyed the 2018 version BUT .....there were parts that were corny though and all involved Lady Gaga. The punching the bar guy was weird, her singing La Vie En Rose was horrible to watch as her acting was almost cringeworthy and should have been easier for her given her performance experience, her immediate love for the famous drunk, her immediately written in her head a capella rendition of Shallow made Lady Gaga look completely awkward as an actress and hardly believable, same for the first live and unrehearsed performance of Shallow. Bad acting and not very believable that they were out all night, he was drunk and druggy the following day yet they perform the entire song perfectly that evening. Good singer yes, but she is no Barbara Streisand who acts, sings and dances and completely becomes her characters effortlessly. Despite the corny bits I enjoyed the movie but sorry folks, Lady Gaga is not deserving of an Oscar in my humble opinion. On the other hand Bradley Cooper nails his character. A big thumbs up for him. 👍👍👍👍. I think his dramatic acting IS deserving of an Academy Award.
