If the COO or whoever it was hadn't mandated that all games meet certain "quality standards" or else be sold in a bundle (not cost-effective or fair at all, considering what WD focused on) they might still be here today, given all the indie games and the like that you find on PSN.

One of the most-maligned gaming series. Square just didn't think westerners would be interested in it so they barely released any of them- as Erick mentioned, we didn't get the first two until the combined DS remakes, and we als never got 5, even though it was supposedly the best of them all. Then they pretty much forgot the series except to release really crappy spin-offs like Front Mission Evolved and (ugh) Left Alive, which they didn't even promote as a game set in the Front Mission universe (probably a good thing too because it was one of the worst games of the year, if not the decade). It's disgraceful that they let such a unique property just rot so badly.

One of the things I loved about Front Mission 3 that wasn't present in the other games was the ability to knock out an enemy pilot and steal their mech mid-battle. It's really funny to do that with a helicopter pilot... It's also really neat to do that during that last 2 or 3 battles in the game, when the big bads roll out those next-gen mechs that normally you can't acquire. Too bad there's no FM game chronologically after FM3 (at least not in the US, to my knowledge) because I would love to know more about those next-gen mechs...

Because if I recall correctly it was one of the best SRPGs on PS1 so the targeted audience must've played it. Unless you meant forgotten gem in which case I agree with. Sorry, Ogre Battle: March of the Black Queen just sucks. I played the SNES version (well, on the Wii anyway) and it's unplayable. Games where the AI has to be left to do the fighting for you are always the worst, because they go beyond random factors like misses and crits to the point where you have absolutely no control over the outcome of battle. I ragequit forever after one too many stupid battles where my party of morons carefully "randomly" attacked all the different enemies in the opposing party to ensure that none of them took enough damage to go down, while the enemy "randomly" all focused the party leader and tore him the shreds, causing me to lose through no fault of my own. Saiyuki looks awesome, though. I'd never even_heard_ of it before.

Holy carp, I actually own one of these games finally. Played dragon valor as a kid and still have a copy of it today. It was a fun game, glad to see someone talk about it.

Of course emulation exists(for some reason my current PC doesnt like PS1 though, game will work fine while playing but random crashes, and if I have to remember to save state every 5-10 mins to avoid losing progress I'd just rather not play lol) but I wish Namco Bandai would release a collection of some of the older Tales games.

saga frontier 2 definitely one of the hardest rpg on ps1...i think i have said this on another one of your video that was talking about it , i never succeeded in beating the damn egg !! no matter what i did :( Will Knight been like the only strong enough character since we could lvl him from the beginning but it's a pain for the other characters , so it was almost like solo agains the egg which i couldnt do, not sure how anyone else succeed in beating the egg? . that aside i like this game a lot :) . Jade cocoon and Sayuki are good too :) i had front mission 3 but i lost it somehow..i miss that game. chocobo dungeon too was kind of fun even though it's a lot of grinding . thousand arms was funny :) Kartia i loved it and lost it too sadly :( vanguard bandit is good :)

My strategy for the egg is, you need high HP/WP/SP (of course) and skill levels somewhere in the upper 30s...then gear up multiple people to use Reviva and Regenerate. I usually have Primera as my main physical attacker, since she is not great with magic, so I load her down with Steel gear and let her tank and shred the Egg without pausing to buff. If you have Regenerate, Reviva, and preferably Stone Armor or Guard Beast maintained on everyone (all of those but Guard Beast last until the battle ends or the character dies), you can keep people alive MUCH easier. The problem is making sure you get enough big d*ck DPS combos to finish the Egg before you run out of WP/SP, so it helps to have those numbers in like the 120 range if you can stomach the grinding. I usually have Meythia and Gramps stall two of the Edelritter lol

@@Shuukuriimudaisuki-sama it's been a while the last time i played it i do not even have my old save anymore so i would need to do everything from the start , well last time like a fool i let Primera handle a boss alone before the egg which i shouldndt have i think so she died but yeah Steel items on her sure is the best way ,i do not remember about the skills but regenerate i know i had it on Will Knight , thank you :) will keep the skills in mind :)

@@Moon-rune It took me many tries to beat the Egg, and after failing several times I decided to go grind more, which is hard to do in places like the Ghoul Tower or the Desert when you're at the end of the game. That boss is a tough little bastard. Also, if you didn't know, on the Edelritter bosses before the Egg, for the ones that you can leave a member to fight solo...you don't actually need to beat them to "win" and a) get their item and b) remove their skill list from the Egg. If you can survive 15 turns with the boss, they fade away and you get their drop and everything just like you won. So I just put shields on Meythia and Wil along with Regenerate, Reviva, and Guard Beast and defended every turn after buffing. The bosses will do pretty much zero damage, and even if they hit, Regenerate fixes it immediately. It's actually pretty damn funny, and that might help you should you choose to challenge the Egg again. I choose to get rid of the Stone Lord and Beast Lord since they have petrify/instant kill attacks that make the Egg even more annoying.
