The BMW 1250 RT is VERY under rated! I agree with most of the others except the Tracer. If you want to be blasted in the face with loud turbulent air on an all day tour, then it's great. And then there's the chain driven bikes. Who wants to tighten and clean their chain in a hotel parking lot on a long tour?? The Tiger GT is great! I test drove one. The V4 looks great. But the others are uncomfortable on long trips.

Alex, someone needs to reach out to Noraly (ITCHYBOOTS) about changing her bike. She currently has the Honda CRF300 RALLY and although only a burnt out clutch, fuel line leaks, she may be looking at changing it to a higher CC after riding the Ducati Desert X recently in Spain. Although, that maybe a bit too heavy for her if it falls over and needs to be picked up. Maybe worth you to give her a few bikes to try one after the other to test. Maybe even a DCT gearbox option to rule out a potential clutch plate issue?

We are about 40 years from electric being good for touring whether car or bike. They are only reliable if you own a house and never go more than 100km from home. The problem with electric is that the stated range is not the range you are going to get. That range is likely based on doing the speed limits. Traffic is typically 40-50 over the speed limits these days and the faster you go the faster your battery drains. Just like a gas car, except with a gas car you pull into one of 15 million gas pumps and drive away 5 mins later with a full tank. That battery is gonna take you about 5 hours to recharge, assuming you can find a decent charger and it actually works.

@@Inked_CR LOL. I road out to the 'tail of the dragon' from my house.. it's about 190 or so miles, one way. it took me 3 and a half hours of straight riding to get there. then i road to the top another 45 minutes riding. I filled up before I left. and filled up again just before i got to the 'dragon'. 2 tanks of fuel. about 10 minutes to fill the tank and on the road again. I filled up again before I got all the way back home. so,, just that one trip lasted about 7 to 8 hours total I filled up 3 times( about 30 minutes). I've been to the dragon 2 times and to the 'SKY WAY' 2 times. it's about 4 hours one way from where I live. HOW MANY TIMES WOULD I HAVE TO RECHARGE the batteries and HOW LONG would it take EACH time? my all day ride would take several days. you need to factor in that the 'tail of the dragon' is a twisty mountain road.. with no charging stations,,,, ZERO,, not a one. there are no gas stations either but I can get almost 200 miles on a full tank if I want. my daily ride to work is a bit shorter,, about 20 minutes one way. but I still would NEVER buy a oversized 'powerwheels',, I'll stick with my rice burner. my truck, my car and my 3 bikes all running at the same time does produce as much CARBON pollution as charging your battery powered JUNK.

@redhytech You're clearly an American, then? It's a given that an electric vehicle wouldn't be sufficient for someone like you. But for most that live in a normal world, 140 miles is more than adequate. Have a good day, sir. I hope you don't moan too much about minor things. It'd suck to be you 🤣

@@Inked_CR America,, FUCK YEAH!,,, lol. ain't nothing but a thing. I'm lucky enough to live close to a mountain area where I can go out and ride. my brother lives in South Florida.. not many hills or curves there and tons of traffic. he came up to Tenn. and I let him borrow one of my bikes to ride for a day. you can't beat getting out on the open road with little traffic and just enjoy the ride. I have a gsx-s750, a gsx-s1000 gt, and a Ducati Monster 900. the Monster is good for a quick run, the S750 is a good daily rider, and the GT is great for long rides.

I can carry extra petrol / gas, enough to more than double my range between stations. Just not possible on Ebikes, and the only reason Ecars work to the capacity they do is because of regenerative braking, which cannot work on bikes. Ebikes are nothing but novelty.

Stats were great, I only have a 30 inch inseam and I am coming off a Harley streetglide, what would be the easiest for ride height so I can touch the floor?
@LooxJJ
8 ай бұрын
For Non-Harley, there are many choices. And I have 30 inch as well. Highly recommend Kawasaki Versys 1000 or Suzuki's new GSX 1000 GX, they are both 33 inches but sacks down easily to tip tow. For long distance touring, I personally prefer this high view point. Honda NT1100 has 32 inches but it can be lowered, and it sacks as well. Triumph Tiger 900 GT Low has 29 inches seat height, and BMW F750GS has 30 inches. If you want something big, both Honda Gold Wing and BMW K1600 has 29 inches (but then again, if you are looking something big, nothing beats Harley). Do seat on them, test ride them, and ask about low seat options (they all have it) - before making decision. Cheers!

@@BikeMatters I’m sure it can be done but for example my 12 day trip next month would add 4-5 more days because of all the stops for charging. That’s 4-5 more nights of lodging and food so in that way electric motorcycles end up costing more money in the long run. I’ve ridden a Zero, loved it, it was a lot of fun but I’d just not spend that kind of money on something with a short range and long charging time.
