Man, you’ve opened a can of worms snubbing Tacoma like that. It has a downtown with four museums, its own streetcar, more diversity than Seattle (let alone Spokane), and plenty of bars and restaurants, and on top of that it’s relatively affordable AND it has reliable bus and trains to Seattle

After living in seattle for a while I'd probably shift some stuff around. Bellevue at 9 is too low imo. It is a little pricey downtown but it does allow walking commutes to a lot of offices/businesses/mall and bellevue downtown park is stunning coupled with pretty decent transit throughout. The light rail to redmond and future extensions will only further make it become more of a well connected hub in the middle between redmond, kirkland, and seattle. (Crossroads can use some work but I wouldn't put bellevue higher than 5) Seattle at 1 I feel is too high. The problem is that Seattle itself is so large of an area where fremont, ballard, udub, cap hill, alki, and queen anne are stunning but dragged down by south sodo, rainier beach, beacon hill, yesler, etc. Belltown and south lake union are glorified amazon areas that lack authenticity (and not particularly safe areas a lot of the time) with surprisingly difficult areas to walk in since the highway intersects a lot the major streets. I guess "ten areas of seattle" could be its own thing since they all fall under the city of seattle but vary wildly. Still really enjoyed the video because some places like Vancouver (WA), Bainbridge, and Spokane I had either only had little time there or never visited entirely and I'm really excited to hear more about the east link light rail which was only being started when I was there.

Washington has gotten insanely expensive because of their housing policies. Washington has insanely beautiful scenery and pretty nice people, however, it’s become unlivable if you make only a moderate wage. Seattle is now building the smallest apartments in the country I believe.
