This wasn't on the list, but I was once the bus listening to Cell Block Tango through my headphones while some guy was...I guess he was trying to hit on me. He kept brushing his leg against mine and finding excuses to talk to me. I, of course, wasn't interested and it seemed like perfect timing when the last line of the second verse played. I just turned to him and stated, "you know some guys just can't hold their arsenic." Suddenly, I had a very peaceful ride after that.

Back in the 1990's I played the Wolf in a community theater production of "Into the Woods" (someone else played Prince Charming) . This was the first solo I had had in years, so I was very nervous. I recorded it and played it on my walkman every chance I got. Until... One day during my lunch break at work, I went for a walk, so I could practice. I didn't realize that I was passing a school, until someone tapped me on my shoulder. A coworker, on her way back from lunch heard me. She just said "I really don't think you want to sing that here." I watched this expressly hoping that "Bring On the Men" would at least get a mention! Gotta say some of the songs from "Miss Saigon" would easily deserve a place on this list. Like the number the girls in the bar do during the "pageant" in the beginning, or a good portion of the stuff showcasing the Engineer. "American Dream" is his best-known number, but the lesser-known "What a Waste"- good Lord, that song is RAUNCHY. Also, to change shows, have to add that "Master of the House" from "Les Miz" has some pretty risque and low-brow lines too....

I sang Big Spender even when I was in grade school. It was big on variety shows in the '60s. But everything was so innocent and people were so naive, that it was portrayed as being about dime-a-dance girls.

When I saw the clip, I immediately knew what the #1 should be, and I was pleased to be right. Apparently this channel thinks that "Hasa Diga Eebowai" is so offensive that they aren't even willing to include anyone singing the translation of what it means.
@Author.Noelle.Alexandria

The translation would result in KZitem demonetizing the video. In my area, the biggest fans of this production, oddly, are Mormons. A few years back, when the production was on tour, there was such an uproar for more shows that, when the production had a few weeks off, they blew off the break and came back for an encore run. It sells out faster than Hamilton here.

Great list. I think Springtime For Hitler will always be my favorite because it reminds me of my dad laughing at the movie with me. A great song that was excluded: Dance Ten, Looks Three from A Chorus Line (also known as T & A). Can't sing that one at the high school talent show, although one of my friends did sing it at a college concert.

Avenue Q is full of gems, like “everybody’s a little be racist…”, “the internet is for p**n”… And then there’s Tom Lehrer, “silent ‘e’”, “the masochistic tango”, “poisoning pigeons in the park”. Then you have to add songs like “love to love you baby” Donna Summers, and “je t’aime”, Jane Berkin

At first, I thought you were making a list of built on exasperations. BUT after reviewing this, I can honestly say you may have a real good point. I'm pretty sure if I sang any of these songs out loud in public, I would definitely get some real bizarre looks from people around me. I'm surprised you made Creepy Old Guy from Beetlejuice an honorable mention. Because I could tell from first hearing it, I thought it's fun and catchy but this song would not sit well with others who don't know the show. But I got to tell ya. The first time I heard The Internet is For Porn on the Avenue Q cast recording, OMG. Did I laugh. Never in my wildest dreams did I think a cast album would cause me bust a gut laughing. I knew deep down this was NOT a show I could share at public parties or events where everyone can hear it.
