Nothing can really compare to RDJ's comeback in terms of pure success. Going from being unable to get work cause you're one step away from OD'ing on your friend's couch, to being one of the highest paid and most beloved actors on the planet is almost unbelievable. And it's all thanks to a comic book movie :P I've always wondered how he feels about the Iron Man character. Granted, it's only a comic book character to everyone else, but to him it almost singlehandedly saved his life. Honestly, that's gotta be kind of an odd feeling to be so intrinsically linked to a fictional person.

I've even seen him go as far as once saying "I don't know who this "Robert" person is you're referring to me as, I'm Tony Stark." Why wouldn't he embraces the character? It literally saved his career. Not to mention, it (the first one) is the highest grossing superhero movie (for now [looking at you Deadpool]), and is what REALLY kickstarted the superhero movie campaigns. I don't think anyone could've pulled off Iron Man as great as RDJ does

Britney definitely deserves her spot on this list. No other star suffered the way she did, she went from being the worlds most cherished girl/pop star , to the worlds most hated person. In 2007 everyone took the chance to bash on her, humiliate her and offend her, obviously all in the attempt of pushing her even lower. Not even a year after her complete breakdown in every way (mental, and business) she came back on top instantly. Completely swiped the top 10 lists in almost every single country and won multiple (and im talking about A LOT) awards. And her next album femme fatale didn't fall back either, it sold amazingly well and gave her another top 10 hits. Today she has her life back on track , looks so good and healthy, is a good mother, and earns million a week in Las Vegas. Not many people get to achieve this after their world crumbling down COMPLETELY. So Miss Britney Spears, thank you for being a legend and an inspiration to everyone in this world who is struggling in the same or similar way you did. To many, you are a LIVING PROOF, that life does get better! :) Thank you for being an inspiration.

Mariah Carey. Her soundtrack and movie flopped, she was dropped from her record label after one year from signing the largest contract in history. She was an ongoing worldwide joke, radio wouldn't play her, then came back with the biggest album of the year and broke records left and right. Brit went through a lot, but her music career didn't take much of a hit other than illegal downloading.

I don't know about no other star having suffered as much as her or was hated as much as her , I think that's quite a stretch, but she definitely deserves the spot. She became a complete laughing stock after suffering from mental issues and that whole thing with that Kevin guy and being okay with him leaving his pregnant ex, but she has bounced back and seems to be a devoted mother, which is way better than awards and stuff it seems like, for her. I'm just sorry she's had to get help again because of her father, lately.

He had to prove himself once again and he did it in a spectacular way. Leo has his choice of roles (and so does RDJ now) - that wasn't the case. Few directors and producers would take a chance on him. He's contractually obligated to do all these Iron Man films and being a superhero inspires a lot of young kids. He has a lifetime to get the perfect dramatic role... I am sure an Oscar is in his future.

Eh...not all. 1975-1997 are excellent years for him, but he did some very bad movies between 1998 and 2005. So in 2006 with rocky balboa, the sixth in the series, he did a huge comeback, an excellent performance and better than the fifth chapter. And then rambo in 2008 and then the expendables... and then his career take new life. And I am happy about that. But he was actually 8 years without a good movie. 1997-2005. His last good performance of the 90s was Copland and then get carter was a very bad remake and driven horrible. So rocky 6 was a nice comeback.

Yes, RDJ is king. Some roads get a little rocky at times, then again he took off in a rocket ship after realizing the road had too many sucky bumps and hurdles. That man is unstoppable now.

Mariah Carey. Everyone thought she was done after Glitter and Charmbracelet flopped. And then she came back with Emancipation of Mimi and took over the R&B genre.

1) neil patrick harris should've been higher considering he was away from the limelight for like 20 years and suddenly became huge. 2) RDJ actually made his successful comeback in Ally McBeal. That's what showed everyone that he was ok to include in casts again
