I considered myself Clyde's greatest fan for years. And probably still do. In Portland he was "real people" and so very loved by all of his fans. I will never forget him taking a moment during a game just days before he announced his retirement to come over and speak with me at a game in Cleveland, Ohio. Shaking both of my hands and being so incredibly warm and personable. He was truly a gentleman in so many ways.

Defenders don't matter as much if you just jump and glide over everyone. I was so lucky to watch this era of basketball as a kid. I was just old enough to have started watching the NBA in the 80s. After Dr. J retired, Drexler became my favorite NBA Player. Sure there were differences in the way they played, but the way Drexler finished a fast break with a dunk reminds most of all of Erving. As a Laker fan I would like to file a lawsuit against Drexler for reimbursement expenses for ointment and bandages. Three of his top 10 against the Lakeshow. I remember seeing that first one on tv, it looked even better then (numerous replays and angles). It didn't seem possible he could catch it while flying out of bounds and still stuff it. Portland was so good back then with that Drexler/Porter backcourt, Buck Williams and RIPs Kersey Mr. Bandand Cliff Robinson. p.s. the dunk on the Admiral shoulda been #1. Vicious.
