Excellent data Dave. Thanks for posting. I wonder what the Wizard 1/2 issue of Bone might be worth, as it's the only Bone comic I have ever owned. My copy of Spawn #1 was signed by Todd at FAO Schwartz in Manhattan back in 1994 when he was there selling his toy line. He also signed my copy of Spawn #4 and he dated that book, but not #1. They have been untouched since then. As CGC won't verify the signatures, my option will be CBCS. I will be submitting them soon. Best to all.

When you compare these to the S&P 500, etc. You are assuming that people would have purchased these few books in particular and had them in 9.8 condition for years before CGC came along. The 90s were filled with literally so many bad worthless books that you can probably stretch then back to back from here to the moon and back 50 times if you were to put all those crappy books in a line. So picking out 10 books out of tens of thousands & then only looking at those few in premium condition and then trying to compare it to the S&P 500 is not a cogent argument.

U can say the same about stocks though. I picked the best stocks of the last decade. As well as the comics. There are thousands of stocks that suck and lost money or the companies went under and they don’t exist. Not every stock is a good investment. Same with comics.

@@ComicBookInvestments he is talking about an index fund for the SP 500 not individual stocks. Th e index resets its self every year based on what has dropped out of the SP500 and what has entered plus the dividends that you get which allows you to get more shares. But these books were 10-20 years old by 2012. It was feasible to buy them as investments then and to compare the 9.8 prices then to now. He's not comparing cover prices to now. I dug up my collection that I mostly bought at cover and graded within the last 18 months. My 3 copies of NM98 graded each graded at 9.6 and I bought then raw for $1 each. I sold one for $450 about a year ago which was an over 1000% ROI even including slabbing costs.
