You can also armor swap while slide jumping. The timing is really precise as you have to look down during the slide to enable the interact prompt (when you slide jump over it) and then swap the armor. A key factor is the muscle memory, its only possible if you dont hesitate while swaping as you only have the time for one prompt

While button puncher is good, evolved may be a really good layout for the people who don’t have paddles and don’t play claw. It changes jump to l1 and x to your tactical. This allows for better movement such as wall jumping and super gliding in different direction.

I play on custom with my aim and shoot on l1 and r1 respectively, l2 is for jump and r2 is for the tac, this way I can still aim my tac/aim while jumping and have a faster reaction time since l1 sends the input faster than l2, everything else is just button puncher

Hey mango I just want to say thank you for all of the great advice you give! Because of you I was able to get my first 3k badge! And hopefully soon I get the 4k one! I’ve been playing apex for a little over 3 months now and you’re videos have really jump started my progression so thank you what you do and making us better at the game and enjoy it more! I can’t express how valuable that is! Keep up the amazing work!! And my only question I would have is how do you enjoy solo queuing? So far that’s one of my biggest problems I play solo 99% of the time and most times I just want to quit playing for that day after many bad games. Any tips on how to improve the experience??
@MangosInTrees
2 жыл бұрын
Hey, thanks so much for the kind words and the tip! Solo queueing is rough, I wish I had a magic answer that solved it but I don't. I used to solo queue all the time, I think my motivation around it was a bit different. However, these days I rarely do it. If I'm playing, it's with friends. Otherwise I just know the experience will not be the same. Plus, I always wanna have some fun but still be competitive and it's hard to fulfill that with randoms. My two bits of advice would be try to find some teammates (be persistent with it) and if you are solo queueing, always prioritize your own life. Just always assume the teammate will make the wrong move, this way you're sort of prepared for the worst case scenario.

Great video, completely agree with all your tips and opinions, the way I’ve practiced thing like supergliding and wall jumping was exactly how you said, constantly attempting them in game on every possible ledge, wall, rock, etc. I’d recommend anyone practicing wall jumping to also practice on any size object in the game bc u can wallbounce off nearly anything, things like those parked cars or small crates around the map, and also thing with a slim surface area like trees, attempting superglides off any ledge in the game, even very short ledges r and death boxes can be superglided off, also the point you made on ALCs was spot on, the majority of players I talk to will immediately get surprised when I tell them I play on classic and talk about ALCs like they define your aim skill, when in reality a lot of players only use ALCs because of the bandwagon it seems to have, can still be good but not everyone is the same, 🔥 video keep it up

Controller layout for non claw and OEM or paddle (pro) controller users: I finally found one I am comfortable with and improved my game significantly. The first change is basically a bumper jumper tactical layout, which simply means that instead of Jumping with [XBOX/PS] A/X, you jump with LB/L1 and your tactical or Q is now A/X. Tactical refers to switching crouch to R3 and melee to B/O. Here’s where it gets personal for me and where I have found comfort and effectiveness with my controller that has 2 paddles in the back (PowerA Xbox Pro Fusion 1): my bumper and trigger actions are flipped so I aim and shoot with the bumpers cause jumping is much easier for me on LT/L2. For RT/R2, I switched around a lot but now it is my tactical button/Q; A/X is my ping button; and up D-Pad is healing still. If you have paddles: I prefer having Y/triangle bound to my right paddle and X/ Square on my left paddle for ease of switching weapons and playing with doors and other interactions like opening death boxes/zip line use and Y to switch weapons easy during fights. This is optional if you do have paddles but if you don’t, you can still play pretty well with the bumper jumper tactical flipped layout I explained above! I tried variations of healing with RT and tactical with A, pinging with Up Dpad for example and while I liked being able to heal with RT, I felt limited with using my tactical Q with A/X. Feel free to flip it around to your comfort! I just wanted to share for anyone else wanting to find a good layout for nonclaw styles.

no....choose fov on your preference......fov as in field of view basically helps you to either have a wider field of view however those enemy you see will be smaller as to fit in those view...so if you think you wan your target to be slighter bigger and you also want a better view , then you choose 90 fov....its preference dont worry , there are pro players who use 90 fov like shivfps so dont worry...my advise is go target range and put on 70 and then slowing increase it as you beam down the furthest target....choose which you feel the most comfortable

The starting the game in 70 fov is actually a mental trick by the devs when players start seeking to improve one of the first things theyll be told is increase your fov so they do that and in turn makes them feel faster automatically making them think there similar to there favorite pros

I honestly think almost everyone should be on ALCs. The issue comes when people copy another players sense, but the argument against using them only makes sense if you dont know how they work and refuse to learn. Any default sense can be replicated in alc and from there, you only have benefits. I recommend using one of the conversion charts to switch your default sense to alc, and then play with some granular control from there.

I think they FOV is mentioned a lot in shooters in general but what's often forgotten is distance from screen. PC players and prob some console players are closer to the screen than your average living room TV is sitting. A 110 FOV isn't great if your screens sitting 9+ feet away. Comparitively PC users and maybe a monitor in an office/ bedroom/ etc are generally much closer, say a 1ft give or take some some inches.

But here’s a quick tip I don’t k is if you know if you change your jump button from A or circle to a bumper or something else it allows you to jump as many times as you want while in a death box same with crouching that means when I get my controller I can set all my buttons to the 4 paddles on the back and infinitely crouch an jump in boxes because it doesn’t change the fact that A and circle are to pick things up in the death box so you can pick stuff up while jumping. You probably knew that but just in case you didn’t just a quick tip from me. Also you are very good in controller I hope I can get that good.

The best playstation controller setup that I have been able to find and have been using for about 5 years is have your crouch as R2, jump R3,interact button L3 X as melee

I really struggle with those close range fights but I’m strong mid range. My main loadout is Flatline/Bow or 301/Bow and works out until it’s so close and it feels like I miss all my shots spraying.. My ALC’s might be too high tho, always tweaking them.

I have a weird button layout that allows me to hold the controller normally and keep crouch on hold. I have left joystick on crouch, right joystick on jump, run on A but have it on autorun and B to punch. Makes zipline jumping hard which kinda sucks but strafing is very easy with this

I’m a d2 player rn I already know all these tips especially the alc settings I’ve tried it out I used genburtens settings and it’s too delicate when aiming down targets hard for me to control recoil I use 6/5 settings with classic response curve a couple things I’d like to help ppl out on is positioning know zones always be close to your tm8s at all times always be near cover and try to get height and have weird different angles as a team to finish off another team go where they don’t expect you to shoot from also big one is throw your grenades learn to stick someone with an arc star
I use auto sprint and I have my settings mapped very specifically, basically my left stick click is mapped to B, I feel like this makes it easier to exit the box

I don't know for the other buttons but if you crouch with L2 and jump with R2 you can jump and crouch while in dead box.I not sure but I think if you use some other button for jumping and crouchin from the default ones you can crouch and jump but I am not sure.

Any tips for mastering auto- sprint? Sometimes when I get shot I get stuck for a second and can’t run.

About the reload behind doors, isn't there an option so you can hold to reload and tape to interact? That may not solve the teammate problem, but the doors are no problem anymore

4-4 classic would feel so slow to me 😭😭😭😭 I’m on 500 yaw and 220 pitch speed on ALC’s once I got used to it, took a couples days, it’s way better imo
