Shutting down Wi-Fi is hands down the best advice ever. I always find myself caught up in social media or watching KZitem videos instead of reading and all the while my head keeps nagging me to stop and go read (but it's not like I'm good at listening to that voice in my head that way more reasonable oops). So basically yes, get away from the internet! Also reading a tangible book helps a lot (although I read may Ebooks). I also tend to go to school early so I would pass that time reading until first period 😊

That sneaky reading in the office nearly got me once. I'm a teacher and we were having our bimonthly meeting in which we give report of each and every one of our students. These meetings can take up a looong time, so I was reading from my laptop while teachers from grades I didn't teach gave their report. I was very careful to be aware and I had everything ready to start the report the moment it was needed. But, like 10 minutes before my turn, I decided I could still fit in a couple more pages. I got so caught up in the story, I only realized it was my turn to speak after they called my name for the third time 😓

Johanna Cáceres When I taught reading/writing in 90 minute blocks, I would take the kids to our library. They were required to get something to read... I didn’t care what. Part of their “bell work” was to read in class for 10 minutes. No talking (unless they read aloud to theirselves. It was awesome. I read as they read...and a lot of them ended up checking out the YA books I read in front of them.

1. I always have a book with me so that even on my 10 minute commute I can read. 2. The TV is almost never on unless there is something that I really want to watch. But if I'm watching TV I will read when the commercials start because I don't need to see the same commercial 100 times every evening! 3. I also make sure to go to bed half an hour earlier than I need so that I can read and relax before I go to sleep. It helps me sleep so much better :) 4. My boyfriend is not a morning person (I am though) so I can read during breakfast without anyone getting mad at me xD

I listen to a lot of audiobooks at work, with sped up narration--usually 2-3 a week, depending on the length. Also, I've started using the text to speech function on my kindle when reading non-fiction. It leaves my hands free to do other things. I have problems with insomnia, so I turn off all screens at 9:30pm (one hour before bed). That time is for dead tree books only.

I always bring a book out with me and just the other day I was at a party with the family and I whipped my book out and 5 minutes later someone had a go at me and said I was being rude which in response I said "Sorry, but I literally have nothing to contribute socially today so what else am I suppose to do? Just sit and twiddle my thumbs? Nah, I'll read!" Plus back when I was in school and college and I'd be using a computer, I ALWAYS had another tab open to read when the teacher wasn't looking, but even if they did, the screen of constant text and words made it look like I was actually doing school work, unlike others who were obviously on Facebook, so I still looked like a good student even when the teachers weren't looking hard enough! WIN!

Long journeys (I used to travel 1.5hrs each way to school) and keep anti-nausea or travel meds on hand, and read on the journey. I have bad travel sickness - I can barely read road signs - and trying out different seats on public transport till you find one that works, only taking tablets when absolutely desperate. Sitting sides works weirdly well for me. Except for that time everything turned purple for 20 minutes, then I wasn't sure which way was up, but that was extenuating circumstances.

I always read when I'm going somewhere by train or bus. Especially every day when going to university by train😂😂 Also, when I know that we're going to drive long I bring a book to read. As I cannot drive yet I've got loads of time to read😊 And when I got a break between two lectures I read too.
