The simplicity of the breakdown was everything I needed to confirm I am going to be working with the right equipment starting out (literally purchased each of these exact items before even seeing this video) CRAZY! Thank you for taking time out to deliver such a high quality video with high quality information. You just gained yourself a new subscriber and fan! :) LOVED

I hate the blue compass arm. It wouldn’t stay in any position I put it in. I don’t understand why they would make a thing like that.

Now I got my answer to my equipment, thanks man! But I don't have a desk or anything that I can use an arm for. So what would you recommend?

I bought the blue arm years back when they first came out and it just wouldn’t stay in place. No matter where I positioned it, and no matter how much I would tighten it, it would begin moving on its own. I already had a rode psa, but I got the Blue because I thought it looked better. Anyway, a few months ago, I heard that they had some sort of recall where they’ve been replacing them for years now because it’s apparently a widespread issue. I don’t know if they’re still doing it. I’ve never looked into it.

I note that the affiliate link for the cable goes to the 15 foot (in *my* browser, anyway). Is that the Amazon default, or was it your selection? Stupid question, maybe...am I really going to need one much longer than 3 feet for my little desktop setup? I can see 6 feet if the mic's up on a scissor arm. 🤔 Thanks!

Not a stupid question! It was the default but you only need whatever your situation calls for so no worries :)

Great tips 👍🏻. I've got a question James. How would you effectively treat a small and I mean 4×4×7ft small vocal booth?

I really want to buy mogami cable but this product isn't available in ky country :(. Also i want to add about your statement that dynamic microphone is not good for voice over work, the thing is i know some vo talent in my country that use dynamic mic for professional vo project. I think it's because I live in 3rd world country so the client didn't really have high standard.

Hi! Would you recommend the Audient Evo 4 with the Earthwork Ethos? Or still the Focusrite? Not really trying to get into voice overs just streaming probably.

Full transparency, I don't have any personal experience with either on of those products (Though I do plan on buying and reviewing them in the future) but I have definitely heard good things so I think you'd be safe to go with those products. Sorry I can't give you a more definitive answer I just hesitate to give definite answers on products I don't have personal experience with you know?

Hi James! I got the Rode NT1 5th generation after watching your videos and the latency was really bad. Any thoughts on that before I return it? Should I get the Rode NT1 4th Gen instead? I need something for both VO and for meditation audios. I was looking for a USB mic with no latency issues. Thank you!! :)

Hey there! How are you using the mic when monitoring? What type of headphones or speakers? Are the wireless?
@bellaloita

@@JamesYounger Thanks for the response! I am using just sony headphones plugged into my laptop. My last mic was a Blu Yeti which sounded nice when plugged into the microphone with no latency issues. I don’t have any speakers at the moment.

@@bellaloita It's almost never the microphone that's causing latency so you shouldn't need to worry about that. It's typically other factors that are actually covered here in this video: kzitem.info/news/bejne/yIKV1J5mkZWVkqQ give that a watch and let me know if it helps! The NT1 5th gen is perfect for what you're wanting to do so you should be good to go!
