I have to admit, unfortunately I’ve applied my makeup the wrong way, many times. After watching this video I see what I was doing wrong. It looks harsh. Applying it the correct way looks so much more natural. I’ve watched everyone of your videos now & I’ve been applying my makeup the right way as I’ve learned from watching your videos. My makeup looks so much better. One day my adult daughter said “Mom, your makeup looks great, I’ve never seen it look so good!” My heart melted! So thank you again for a great video! Too many steps and too many products, which all makes it overwhelming to tackle makeup overall. Nothing vs this video; great at applying, tutorial is easy to understand, but it triggers anxiety. Why so much? We spend so much time to cover, to enhance, to do so much to our face. Big business for sure & unfortunately, we create a lot of wastes, including myself. 😢

Thank you , I agree with your tips on almost everything. The eye on the correct side did appear much smaller- still nice but smaller. Of the two eyes I think your "wrong" eye looked pretty and made your eye appear much larger than the "correct" eye. A little tweak to the placement on the hood and you would have a winning eye look. That aside, I loved your video. I thought the other mistakes people make were gastly and you really brought them to light!

Thank you!! I’ve never attempted blush, contouring and highlighter…EVER…because it seemed confusing and a little overwhelming, but you just explained it so simply! I think I’ll give them a try 🙂 I saw several comments saying the wrong side looks like a night makeup example, but it just seems very dark and messy (and a little like a bad spray tan, lol). What I think would be interesting is a side by side of day and night application both the “right way”. Maybe the same colors, showing an easy transition from day to night looks? I’m new to your channel so sorry if you’ve done this already. I personally would benefit from transition tips, just to save time. It’s not always convenient to remove/reapply when going from work to happy hour 🍷 I’d love to make a few tweaks and it appear to be a fresh/new look.

What is the point of contouring before foundation? Priming comes first, obviously, then foundation, then contouring, right? I am not an expert, but why bother if foundation is going to cover it all?
@NinaUbhi1

It’s called under painting and it’s a technique pro makeup artists use for a soft focus finish that isn’t as obvious as concealer going last. Foundation doesn’t cover it all - you use a sheet foundation so the concealer subtly shows through.

I found your tutorial so very informative and beneficial! Best I've seen in a long while! However, as an older woman, the area in the makeup application that concerns me, is; applying powder after concealer and foundation. When I use powder to set my concealer or makeup, the powder seems to accentuate and sit in my fine and deeper lines and gives my foundation a heavier, orange peel look, even when applying it as you suggested in your video. Do you have any further tips for mature skin with lines and wrinkles? Should I use powder on mature skin, as suggested on your video? You look so beautiful, perfect and very youthful plump skin, and have no lines or wrinkles! Lucky you! I would be so very interested in learning how to have a more youthful appearance, yet a very glamorous, soft and romantic look, using an application of makeup for a more mature skin; concealing wrinkles and deep lines, so they appear softer and less prominent. Can you help? Do you suggest using different products to help with a more mature skin? Should I still use powder in my makeup routine as a mature woman, as suggested in your video? Thank you for an excellent video! I look forward to seeing and learning more in your great videos! Wanting to look beautiful again in Texas!

I don't usually wear a lot of makeup, but when I do, it more closely resembles your "wrong" side! I have learned so many things watching this video! As soon as I find a good color tutorial for doing this on my pasty pale complexion, I am going to try all of your correct methods! I am actually excited about this, when usually I just try to get through the makeup process as quickly and minimally as possible. :D

I like both looks! I get her point on contouring and application, but I’ve got to say that I don’t think people need to look air brushed to look gorgeous, or that darkness over the eyes looks bad. She’s so pretty, and looks hot even after just the lip gloss!

Wowwww You look Absolutely gorgeous! I didn't realize how many mistakes I was making. I do have a couple of questions. Maybe you have another video I can watch. Since I am not able to no longer work I no longer wear a foundation. Maybe I have 1 time in a year. I know!!!!!! 2nd I 59 and don't wear an eye liner (WANT 5O SO BAD) due to it makes my eyes droop more due to my wreckles!wreckers!! Please HELP!! You are b FABULOUS ❤❤THANKS SO MUCH!!

I think for me, my makeup mistakes are about not wasting the products I purchase. But you teach solid technique while feeling our mood and using different products. Thank you.

It’s so interesting you put on concealer and contour first before your foundation. Im going to try that. Thanks!

I'm so glad I saw this. I can't believe how wrong I was doing my makeup and I watched other videos with supposed "experts" and it was completely wrong. The only 2 things I was doing right was the eye cream and the contour. I have to watch all your videos now.

your comment inspired me enough to stay and actually watch the video ~ thanks sis. Also wanted to say that I totally feel you on the frustration with feeling like you were influenced to do certain things ~incorrectly~ by ppl/videos in the past ~ tbh the vast amounts of related content out there is overwhelming and sometimes even intimidating. so much information + THEN you must decide which tips even apply to you vs not. Something as (seemingly) simple as determining undertones or even figuring out skin type /or face shape becomes M E S S Y and i just give up usually. It's important to know what you are looking for - it helps guide you to hidden gems that end up changing your life 💕 many have mentioned it here already but ~right vs wrong~ mentality doesn't rly apply to this IMO. you find what you like/what works for you and try to stay within those lines ~ happy New Year idk what my point is lmao i just felt like spilling my thoughts

@@britt.any_time I know exactly what you mean. So far out of everything I have watched on KZitem with different makeup professionals never worked for me. This Woman here, I just found her and she is absolutely amazing. I love how she will show different ways of doing things, does right and wrong ways, and explains everything in detail. I'm starting to go through all her videos.

What advice would you give someone who doesn't use a full face of makeup? I only use mascara, eyeliner, eyebrow pencil, and lipstick. My face is very sensitive to a lot of products so it's very difficult to use a lot of makeup.

Eek!! I’m only 8 minutes in and I’ve made all those mistakes so far. No wonder I feel like a clown sometimes. Especially now I’m older and my skin tone is more uneven and a shade or two lighter. I’m a good deal older than you and was feeling very dated as well. Looking forward to watching the rest of your post. Many thanks for sharing. 😊😀
